Adobe Photoshop is used in our marketing department as a staple for photo editing and graphic design. I personally started using Photoshop about 20 years ago and I have seen it grow, change and adapt over the years. For the purposes of business, both internally and externally, Photoshop allows me to accelerate the marketing process of developing engaging content for the purposes of lead generation and brand messaging.
The new content-aware fill in CC 2019 is mind-blowing. What a great job Adobe has done with this algorithm. The masking tools in Photoshop have developed equally as well. The ability to export a layer quickly to a PNG helps extremely in the area of Web design.

Overall: I used photoshop for many years, but for simple touch up, I rather go with Lightroom, its faster and it organizes well photos. Photoshop is for serious job, big surgery, it's more professional, however, it's not user friendly. You really need time to dive in the workshop. The update is good and bad at the same time. Adobe doesn't give you an option to use old version. You have to keep update until your computer is too "old" to keep up. So, you have to buy a new computer if you want to stay in the job. And every year, you have to go through the training to learn new functions. Some update is not necessary making life easier. When Lightroom shew up, Photoshop became more and more exclusive for graphic designer and photographer.

Overall: It is my go-to program and I have been using it for almost as long as I've been creating digital art. I use it in combination with other programs (GIMP for it's ability to turn white or other colours into transparency (great for separating scanned lines from their background when you want the final export to have transparency), and Clip Studio Paint for it's bucket tool's ability to quickly fill in colour on a new layer while taking into consideration the linework present on a different layer). These features may be present in some capacity in the newest version of Photoshop, but are sorely lacking in CS5. Beyond that, Photoshop CS5 works perfectly for my needs.

Overall: Exploring Adobe Photoshop feels like unlocking a treasure chest of creative possibilities, where each tool and feature offers a new avenue for artistic expression. The journey through its complex interface and functionalities is challenging, yet immensely rewarding, as mastery brings the power to transform imagination into visual reality. Despite its steep learning curve, Photoshop remains an essential tool for professionals and enthusiasts alike, continually evolving to lead the frontier of digital creativity.
