    Big Commerce has a lot of great features out of the box - there are many options for integrating 3rd party software, which is a very helpful thing as more and more solutions are becoming mre important and necessary for online retailers to connect and maintain. Using Big Commerce is fairly straightforward on the back end, and we have not havd many issues finding our way around the admin dashboard. Customer Support has been great - I meet monthly with our BC account rep, and he always has great feedback and advice on how we're doing, so I have found that their support has truly been of great value to us.     BigCommerce is very much that - big. The possibilities are nigh on endless, particularly when partnering with a development agency specialising in BC. There's clearly a drive by BC towards empowering their merchants to go global with lots of tools to make international selling easy. The platform itself is easy to use on a day to day basis, and the customer support is excellent with quick response times and largely quick solutions.     Our ecommerce business basically doubled overnight once our BigCommerce stores went live earlier this year. SEO seems to be really good, we're able to create robust product listings with plenty of quality photos, video, etc. We love the multistore platform as we have 5 websites and are able to sell across all of them with one backend experience.     If you want to customize anything, it's extremely complicated and tedious. The templating system is very old. It's difficult to find freelancers who will work with it anymore because of that. I have one customer who has been on BigCommerce for years and he's had a terrible experience even at one of the highest paying tiers. Their customer support is not helpful at all and their documentation is disorganized and they have old instructions scattered across search engines, it's hard to understand what's still relevant.     A retail home decor client is using it as her Ecommerce website. We transferred from a custom built site using OpenCart to a BigCommerce ecommerce template that I customized to match old branding.
    Large selection of attractive/modern responsive templates that are very easy to customize to your brand. Very easy to update site software with latest version without affecting existing look & feel. Very responsive template designers. Company that created template I customized answered design queries and offered tech assistance all within 24 hours. Customer support at BigCommerce is terrific. Never had a bad experience. Large knowledge base of support documents and online community. Rarely did not find answer I needed in documentation.

    I utilize [BigCommerce] for my online sales. I have a small hand-crafting business and BigCommerce has helped me to grow [my] online presence.
    They have fantastic customer service - anytime I have any questions, I can count on answers! I love the user-friendly templates that they offer so that I can have a professional store, without paying somebody to do the online aspect for me. The value I get for my monthly rate is excellent.

    Overall: The software has been solid for our customers and the administration UI is very easy to use. We have outstanding technical issues that have been open for more than a year and are still not resolved (HTTP status 500 errors that intermittently are returned from their backend APIs) - they say they cannot see the errors in their backend logs and we must send them examples even though we have this happen 10-12 times a day, continually, for over a year. Their Stripe integration does not include the email address field when they send payment requests to Stripe, so customers do not get a credit card receipt from Stripe. Requesting this be changed resulted in them telling us only 1 other customer wanted this feature and that we should switch to Authorize or Brain Tree because it works with those processors) - this felt like a move to downplay the use of Stripe and push us towards vendors that BigCommerce perhaps prefers? It is hard to believe we are the only customer that would want Stripe to send CC receipts to customers - their built-in receipt mechanism does not allow a store to include the last 4 digits of the credit card in the receipt the store sends, which means customers have to call in to customer support when they are organizational customers to figure out which CC is used - a very poor experience for our customers and for our customer support team.

    Overall: We initially transitioned from Lightspeed eCom over to Bigcommerce because their platform offered greater scalability and entry-level features than what Lightspeed offered. Because we use Lightspeed POS, however, integrating product data between the systems was a challenge and a lengthy process. It also takes some effort to maintain the connection (via a third-party service using their API).

    Overall: We have been with BigCommerce for six years now and have had very minimal downtime. The rare instances we've had to contact customer support have been handled quickly. Support forums and customer facebook group monitored by BC have been a tremendous help when troubleshooting or looking for ways to customize our online store.
