4.0So, if you're looking for a reliable co-pilot to take your engineering dreams from concept to reality, look no further. Inventor's got your back (and your gears, and your sprockets...). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
4.5I like the easy interface and the interoperability capabilities that Inventor already offers. The BIM Content feature is the bread and butter of the software for my usage. I love that I can easily extract and export a Revit file with the simplify tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
4.0Very simple User interface and workflow, making it easy for beginners to learn and use. It has wide range of tools for Parametric modeling, freeforms and direct modelling. And it has very great integration with other Autodesk products. All this with good coustomer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
0.0Everything. There are much more cost effective products out there - Try OnShape for a glimpse of the next generation of what CAD will be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
0.0Poor performance with large assemblies. Project files are a waste of my time. Why can't I change my rotation and pan schemes!? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
0.0Every feature/tool I can think of in Inventor is better realised in Solidworks or Creo. Vault professional is not a great product either. It isn't really a PDM system, just a fancy file manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

10.0It is used to draw up our frames and units. We use it to determine size and positioning. It helps with the custom aspect of our design of units.
Allows you to be detailed so you can determine if the size requirements will work. Allows you to take complete drawings and put them into a exploded view. You are able to view the drawing in other programs or with there inventor viewer.
10.0Autodesk Inventor is the 3D Modelling software of choice in this company. We use it for all modelling and printmaking, as well as doc control of manufacturing prints. It is used by the engineering department to create documents for sales and manufacturing.
3D Modeling. Parametric Modeling. Drawing Creation. Simulation.
10.0Autodesk Inventor is being used as the primary 3D CAD software for all products the company provides. Daily we use all the features including part and assembly creation, IPNs (for exploded views) and the IDWs (for all drawings). We have also used the built-in software for FEA. Autodesk Inventor is only being used by engineering and solves all of our needs for current part revision and new product development.
Intuitive Part/Assembly creation. Simple drawings with the ability to save to different formats. Library control for common parts.

5.0Overall: I started using inventor 15 years ago at university and although the software has grown a lot, its use is still just as easy, of course with certain improvements and additions that must be learned with each new version. Although inventor generates high-quality blueprints, many times the drawing standards of each country or region are not met, so I usually edit the drawings in AutoCAD before presenting them
3.0Overall: A number of irritating problems functionally have prevented us from integrating Inventor fully into our systems. We used it mainly for R&D, in which we find it usable with some features earning a 'good' and even a 'very good'. Inventor and Networks are not good bedfellows, however, and why must the damn Downloading and Licensing be such a theater?
4.0Overall: I feel 80% is enjoyable. I can build structures or components. Its getting better every time, the other 20% is just basic frustration not being able to mirror components in assemblies and keep them linked, and not being able to copy mates on assemblies is just a big time waster.
5.0Overall: Autodesk Inventor is a great 3D parametric modelling CAD software for Mechanical engineers. It is possible to use parametric, freeform, direct and conditions / rules-based design.
5.0Overall: Inventor allows me to do my job, mechanical engineering, I use it daily to design, analyze and draw components we make.
5.0Overall: In general I always use this software to design any part, running the stress simulation.
