Heap is a simple enough analytical tool to learn for anyone at any skill level with data analytics and non-data analyts. The platform allows for the creation of data visuzalizations while analyzing the requested data, which essentially makes the site a "one stop shop". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The snapshot feature allows you to enrich ANY event (page view *and* click event) with data from pretty much any element on the page (css, form field info, javascript values) which makes the tool so useful and the reporting so much more valuable than simple clickstream data. The team consistantly iterates and is launching new features to compete with tools like Fullstory/Hotjar with session replay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to analyze is ridiculously bad. I've been doing web analytics for four years now, and I'm pretty good at it. I find that usually the third level of drill down is where you start getting an answer to your question, and Heap just doesn't allow enough in depth analysis. It feels like an overall funnel analysis tool, and its reporting is just so incredibly basic. It was essentially useless for analysis and acts almost as a glorified tag manager. It also doesn't actually record form fields very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Heap, on one fine day, closed our account without any notice as we were exceeding our free trial quota. This unprofessional behaviour put us off so much that even when we had the capacity to upgrade the paid account, we chose not to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like Heap since it's sleek and easy to use. I love Heap's collaboration tools, which allow me to involve team members in data path and chart preparation to get the best results. Reports, dashboards, and data mining are easy too.

I can define events and conversions in the past with the help of Heap. This is a helpful feature, especially in circumstances when deliverables are constantly changing.Because Heap tracks every user event out-of-the-box and doesn't require custom labeling, it has a low maintenance cost for tags.Heap is pre-optimized, in my experience as an analyst, for complex web and mobile apps.

We utilize Heap to analyze all of our web and in-product traffic and events. It's used for marketing efforts, CRO, growth, PLG, and activation metrics.
Enables business users to create events and segments. Very easy to create reports and a variety of them at that. Retroactive tracking of events is immensely valuable. Easy dataflow to a cloud data warehouse for reuse in GTM efforts.

On the tech team, we use it to understand better how our users interact with the platform we designed. The scope of the use cases are all the users that we have, typically clients who are scheduling experts, so we track all sorts of things like the heatmap, a number of clicks, rage-clicks, etc. Very handy and often used!

At Moody's we utilize Heap to understand how our clients use our application and if they use new features we roll out. We also try to understand where clients drop off or spend too much time on certain functions to offer them training, etc. Heap is a great analytics tool for any company looking to understand their clients' sessions.
