At least with version 4.3-4.10, the documentation for Solr was very lacking, and it is difficult to find help with things. There are a lot of features, particularly in your configurations, that can take a bit to understand and get setup correctly. There has been a lot of guesswork in figuring out some of these features, and it seems like there is a lot that could be better documented to help identify where certain things can be used. Dealing with Zookeeper can also be a hassle. Updating the configs through Zookeeper has not been the most straightforward thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

At my company we use Apache Solr to help improve customer experience when it comes to searching and analyzing our large collections venue data on our web portal.
