I have been using AutoCAD for almost 30 years starting with R12. It is the best all around CAD software. I have done many different types of work within it. I have worked on many MEP projects, bridges and landfills through Civil 3D, and electrical substations. It's very easy to use and to learn. For the last 8 years I have been primarily working in the MEP field doing electrical design using both AutoCAD and Revit. We mostly work on apartment complexes, grocery stores and small shopping centers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One thing that comes straight up to my mind when I think of Autocad is its extensive customizations and Real-time collaboration tools. Not to mention it's super powerful and also happens to be the industry standard! It also has a plethora of exclusive features which I don't really find in other software alternatives like the super smooth layering and traces option! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This combination makes for an ultra-slow, ultra-glitchy interface that cannot handle what it's advertised to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AutoCAD is used on a per case basis as required for an event. Typically as a business, we use 3D modeling software and pull AutoCAD out when complex 3D designs need to be completed more accurately. I prefer to design and measure in AutoCAD and export out for fancier rendering requirements. AutoCAD is a great design tool when accuracy is required.

AutoCAD is used on a large scale by hundreds of users. Basically, everyone is using 2D; some users also use Inventor for 3D needs. Some departments use AutoCAD to create detail and elevation drawings, other departments create [a] plan and title sheets, and others work on embedded files. All of these mentioned above are 2D drawings as required by architects. AutoCAD is also used to create sheet sets [that manage] the documentation very well. This workflow proved to be one of the best management solution[s] for Autocad. You can also use Vault Professional to escalate your management needs to the next level. AutoCAD / Vault workflow is great!
Dimensioning Paper space Layout plans Good sofwtare to open any 2D dwg used in other software Sheet set

For a while now, AutoCAD has been my go-to CAD utility thanks to its rich features & undisputed performance. The software has a neat interface for easily navigating through the variety of plotting tools & organized tabs for all drafting purposes. it's hard not to recommend this software to anyone who's looking for a flawless CAD experience.
