4.0One of the standout features of Solid Edge is its synchronous technology, which allows users to make changes to their designs easily and intuitively. This flexibility is a significant advantage, particularly when dealing with complex projects that may require frequent modifications. The ability to edit designs without the need for complex pre-planning or history-based editing streamlines the design process and enhances overall efficiency. 5.0In the latest releases performance in many areas where increased and those who work with large assemblies will highly benefit from it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
5.0Initially, I started working on this software during my college time. At that time, I used the free (student) version of the solid edge software. I found that the user interface of this software is quite engaging so that we can easily make 2D drawings and 3D models. Along with drawing and modeling, this software is also capable of doing computer-aided engineering of the models. So, this tool is helpful for the initial product development phase. 0.0Poor UI, lots of bugs, not give confidence in work while using, Complicated commands, still using old technology in some command, lots of good productive features are already provided by competitor companies from last 10 yrs but still SE not provided those features, looks like it is 15 yrs old software and still in every new version it only updated very little, lots of advance features are still missing compare to other softwares, Some commands are high time consuming, Mates are very difficult to edit, delete and again mating is easy compare to edit. I found lots of improvements in SE compare to others CAD software, No VBA, you have to depend on other coding platforms.Smart Dimension are not "Smart". Lots of Maintenance Packs comes in year, that shows software is under development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
0.5Besides it does freez once a while and might lose your work at some point and start alover. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1.0Assembly patterns. Assembly exploded views. Multibody design in part files. Top down design. Updating linked parts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

10.0I am the instructor of the Canadian Valley Technology Center CAD program. Solid Edge is used with & by students pursuing a career in mechanical drafting/engineering. The capabilities of synchronous technology enables our students to spend more time designing due to its flexibility and ease of use.
Synchronous technology allows a user to spend less time studying on how to model and more time designing. The portfolio of Siemens products incorporated into Solid Edge like Teamcenter and Mentor allows the students to gain exposure to other industry-leading applications. Solid Edge has less of a learning curve and Siemens Learning Advantage is a great gateway for up-to-date tutorials.
10.0Solid Edge is being used by our mechanical engineering group. It's simple to learn. We've had SolidWorks designers pick it up in a few hours. The synchronous technology makes this product a very efficient tool for designers. The integrated FEA saves us time. We also have a distributed team and the built-in data manager works great via Google Drive. The team loves the zero latency since the files are on their individual PCs rather than a server or strictly online.
Synchronous technology with design intent is a powerful design aid. We've found it so much faster to design this way. Built-in data manager gives us the ability to have all our Solid Edge files on our PC and have it synced to all others on our team. Files lock as they should and the speed couldn't be better. Support is great. The community group has the most answers to the "how do I" questions.
10.0Solid Edge is an engineering software [that] provides a great plate form of 3-D designing. In our organization, new products are developed through CAD CAM analysis and this plays a vital role to produce the prototypes for analysis, coding conversation with the CNC and running MATLAB. This software is easy to use and provide[s] a great online support for any issues if generate[d] within the system.

2.0Just being honest with ST3 version, there was just to many bugs. It cant process to many features or large assemblies. This caused so much lagging. I once waited 10 minutes just to turn a DFT file into a pdf because I wanted color. I shouldnt have to choose between color and time. Just my opinion. I wouldnt be to proud of using this software year.
5.0I can quickly provide customer solutions, with great quality 2D drawings, 3D models, Video fly-throughs, machine animations, stress and displacement analysis and reverse engineering. This software is critical to my business.
5.0The solid edge helps us to design our products in 2d and 3d. We use solid edge for doing calculations and analysis of the design.
3.0It's a helpful program for both beginners and experts because it's incredibly simple, quick, and easy to create with.
4.0A PLM software where a user can build an accurate CAD models.
