0.5I prefer the old version. FreshBooks was "upgraded" in November 2020, with not any improvements that I found useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
3.5Freshbooks has a wide variety of tools within its suite of office software. The ability to invoice, view and correlate clients all in the same software makes using it very easy and seamless. They also have VERY responsive customer support, which makes solving any issue very quick and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
4.0Freshbooks may not be a good fit for everyone, hence my unwillingness to give it a 10. If you are looking for something to get the job done, can scale with your business, and is affordable, Freshbooks is worth a look. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
0.0Marketing is great, outbound communication looks busy, but the product has no improved or fixed really basic flaws for years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
0.0This program is VERY GLITCHY. The biggest problem is when you tell them that it's glitchy, they tell you that it's not and that they don't plan to fix it. The easiest example is when you try to send an invoice, there is no "account balance" on the invoice. So if one client has two invoices outstanding, they can never know how much they owe. Clients are always confused, and you have to manually send emails to tell them what their account balances are. By that point, they haven't paid anyway, since people don't like to do a bunch of work to figure out how much they owe you. This definitely DOES NOT automate your billing experience, as they claim it does, and instead, it requires significant manual calculations by hand to make sure account balances are correct. Another example is using the account statement feature. When you create an account statement for a client, using the default timeframe will yield a report with an account balance at the bottom, only that is not the real account balance. It is just a net of the most recent payments and invoices, but it DOES NOT add up to the account balance. As a result, my clients are always confused about what to pay, unless I manually go in, add up what they owe, and send them a custom written out note to explain what they should pay. I have contacted Freshbooks 26 times to discuss these issues, and they cant even tell me if it will ever be fixed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
0.0A lot: clunky interface, few reporting options, and if you want the system to send you an email when a payment is received, look elsewhere... FreshBooks doesn't! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

5.0FreshBooks offers a user-friendly interface, simplified invoicing with online payment support, effortless expense tracking, and time tracking. It provides comprehensive reporting, client management, and a mobile app for on-the-go access. Multi-currency support suits international businesses, and responsive customer support is available. Integration options with various tools enhance versatility.
5.0Integrating FreshBooks into our non digital accounting system was much easier than we expected. With its intuitive no-jargon UI and UX, the learning curve was minimal and it took no time to get used to.
5.0Freshbook keeps tracking sent invoices to customer and keeps send automatic reminder to customer with overdue.

3.0Overall: Here's the skinny on FreshBooks (the good, the bad, and the ugly): The Good: You can't beat the visual dashboard for tracking outstanding and past payments for clients. It's a great billing system for small businesses and especially consultants or freelancers. The recurring billing/invoicing system is FAB! Like many platforms these days, Freshbooks showcases a library of "add-ons" to help enhance your experience. Some of the best ones (in my book, as a tech consultant and marketer) are Hubspot, Shopify, Mailchimp, Bidsketch, BaseCamp, and Podio. There's a decent time tracking feature, along with the ability to track expenses. You can create/assign staff to project billing. Of course, you can issue "estimates" to prospects for future projects. As you send invoices through the Freshbooks system, it will log "sent" emails for you. And the system is designed to handle manual invoices for snail mail as well. Each client/business that you bill receives their own "login" to your dashboard to view their invoice(s). This is a nice touch, as clients may often "misplace" that original email with your invoice in it... It integrates very nicely with Stripe and PayPal (although I hear that may be changing - what? I know) plus Freshbooks has its own payment feature. I never have issues with payments, they always come through the system promptly (for online playing, 24-48 hours, the norm). The Bad: I'm not a fan of the reporting feature, while it's functional, it doesn't allow enough flexibility that a diverse consultant such as myself would like (need) to have. There are several reporting functions for each core feature (Accounting, Clients, Invoicing, and Time Tracking). But no option for custom reporting, which I often need as my diverse array of clientele has different process, set-ups, etc. At the very least, I would like to be able to customize the built-in reports on some level. I've not found an add-on that would assist me with this pain point. The Ugly: Finally, sadly, the worst thing I have to say about FreshBooks is that the Android app is greatly lacking. As the years (and technology) progress, that could eventually become a deal breaker. All the features in the world won't do a consultant much good if all of those same features can't be accessed via mobile device. We're ALL mobile these days, doncha know. However, if you split your time between desktop/Mac and mobile, then Freshbooks is well worth a look!
5.0Overall: Freshbooks does manage the following VERY well: Time tracking against projects and clients; invoice creation based on tracked time; and one-off invoices or flat rate pricing. I also like the clean and easy to navigate interface.Generating and reading historical reports is quick and easy to determine things like, how quickly specific clients are paying (and who is historically slower at paying), income by client and income by project/work type. The phone app is functional for my needs, although it's a little clunky and not nearly as full featured as the desktop software. It's not bad, but not great. I have successfully tracked time on the app, then issued an invoice from my phone to my client's email inbox.Overall, Freshbook fulfills my needs as a consultant.

4.0I've been a dedicated Freshbooks user for about 20 months now and I've got to say that I'm very impressed with how easy it is to use. With my consulting business I have (literally) hundreds of customers so I'm unhappy that I had to be placed on the top billing tier right away and would hope that Freshbooks sees fit to revamp their pricing strategy someday (for instance bill customers by the number of invoices that they write in a month rather than the total number of customers that they have...
1.0I used the trial and it took about 5 seconds to notice woke politics supercedes all aspects of this company. the interface is buggy and customer service is apparently so overwhelmed that it's impossible to reach anyone. there's more emphasis on what they call "DIB" (diversity, inclusion, belonging) than business accounting. an absolute joke.
