So, if you're looking for a reliable co-pilot to take your engineering dreams from concept to reality, look no further. Inventor's got your back (and your gears, and your sprockets...). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the easy interface and the interoperability capabilities that Inventor already offers. The BIM Content feature is the bread and butter of the software for my usage. I love that I can easily extract and export a Revit file with the simplify tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very simple User interface and workflow, making it easy for beginners to learn and use. It has wide range of tools for Parametric modeling, freeforms and direct modelling. And it has very great integration with other Autodesk products. All this with good coustomer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Everything. There are much more cost effective products out there - Try OnShape for a glimpse of the next generation of what CAD will be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Poor performance with large assemblies. Project files are a waste of my time. Why can't I change my rotation and pan schemes!? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Every feature/tool I can think of in Inventor is better realised in Solidworks or Creo. Vault professional is not a great product either. It isn't really a PDM system, just a fancy file manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is used to draw up our frames and units. We use it to determine size and positioning. It helps with the custom aspect of our design of units.
Allows you to be detailed so you can determine if the size requirements will work. Allows you to take complete drawings and put them into a exploded view. You are able to view the drawing in other programs or with there inventor viewer.

We leverage Autodesk Inventor for mechanical product design. Not only does it function as our primary CAD software, but it saves time and money by automating many of our design tasks. The included FEA and shape generation tools further enhance our design capabilities by giving designers direct access to simulation without swapping to a new software.

Autodesk Inventor is being used at GK to model custom capital equipment used in the mining, recycling, and foundry industries. There are many design considerations at play with the great size of the equipment we make, so having it modeled makes a huge difference. Also, over the 2D jobs of the past, many replacements are modeled to help with fit and finish during the remake.

Overall: I started using inventor 15 years ago at university and although the software has grown a lot, its use is still just as easy, of course with certain improvements and additions that must be learned with each new version. Although inventor generates high-quality blueprints, many times the drawing standards of each country or region are not met, so I usually edit the drawings in AutoCAD before presenting them

Overall: I feel 80% is enjoyable. I can build structures or components. Its getting better every time, the other 20% is just basic frustration not being able to mirror components in assemblies and keep them linked, and not being able to copy mates on assemblies is just a big time waster.
