ProWritingAid is incredibly feature rich. You can choose what kind of language (business, casual, academic, etc.) and the suggestions are usually extremely on point. The software "suggestions" often make the writing worse (if followed). Out of 10 "suggestions" maybe only 1 is a valid correction not already found by a built-in editor.

Since Friday, September 18.2020, I realized that all my docs were no longer accessible or corrupted. I contacted customer service and received a response after several e-mails and face book messages that this matter is being looked into, today after one week of trying to recover my docs, still no solution. I should mention that the ProWritingAid website went down around the same time. I am writing a book since July which was in completion and cannot access anything.

ProWritingAid is an amazing and accurate style grammar checker and editor. It is useful for anyone using writing apps like Scrivener. ProWritingAid allows me to open Scrivener project files directly, check for errors, and save changes to Scrivener. It offers a plugin for Chrome and Safari, as well as desktop applications for Mac and Windows. It also offers an add-in for MS Word.
ProWritingAid excels with longer drafts, like a book. You can scan up to 100,000 words. It is a great tool. It takes a few seconds to scan, document and prepare a report. It is a great tool. Prowritingaid has a good online grammar checker, it helps to correct the most common problems and vices that are commented on when writing such as using excess words, repeated phrases, clichés, and redundancies, even how monotonous a sentence is can be or paragraph. Added to all this is its ability to scan the net in search of possible similarities with other texts and try to avoid plagiarism of other writing.
The collocation dictionary is perfect, it allows you to analyze thousands of books whose purpose is to find words that are commonly found together. Complementing perfectly with Google Docs, this feature is only available to Premium users but is great for finding ways to improve your writing. It complements perfectly with MS Office and allows direct access to editing software in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.

It offers the appropriate options to work comfortably on our content to be edited, just pasting our text or loading the document. With proper internet connectivity, you can use it anywhere you write online.

Overall: Sharing my two cents about ProWritingAid that I purchased a lifetime licence for: If you're reviewing texts about 300 - 400 words in length at maximum, you'll be happy with the tool. Otherwise, it's not worth the money. If you need a short-term solution, then by all means go for it but don't pay a buck for actually using the SW. I've been using the Word add-on for over three months now and if you want to use most of the tools on more than 800 words, the tool simply can't handle the 'load.' Usually, it breaks off after a minute or so and you can run the check again which normally doesn't help. You end up wasting a ton of your time and accomplish nothing at all. While the language advice and the correction improvements you get recommended are helpful, you're better off using Grammarly or another alternative if you're reviewing long chunks of text in one go and don't want to constantly copy-paste from Word to their interface and back which is a pain if you have to do that daily like myself.

Overall: I personally find the Grammar and Spelling filters on the ProWritingAid checker to be most relevant to my personal needs. I would love to see ProWritingAid keep expanding and refining those particular checks! Right now, I feel that the software focuses more on passive voice and optional stylistic refinements than necessary while failing to catch some fairly obvious typos, but I have confidence that the software will just keep improving over time.

Overall: I used Grammarly for 10 years but recently they keep threatening to discontinue support of integrations. Thier Microsoft Office Integration was official discontinued over a year ago although it is still available and functional but not promoted. Grammarly integrations are not that great and their where no improvements, things just got worse. The integrations in ProWritingAid all work and are easy to install.

I'm a Grammarly user for many years. I tried this tool because I can't afford the premium on Grammarly. What can I say about the tool is next: - less negative impact on performance while browsing. - not so good correction like in Grammarly. Even though it does offer a lot of features, it keeps erasing things that I write when I press "Enter" and there's no way to undo it so I have to re-write them from scratch. I don't know why this happens and frankly I no longer care.

ProWritingAid is a great site thats helped me with my writing and games. Id give it 5* but the chrome plugin sometimes doesnt work well and logs me out. Otherwise its a good tool and Id definitely recommend it to othere!
