I have to start this with a caveat because, if we had been able to get past a personal hurdle, I would have pushed for its use in the company I consulted with everyone. We approached it in the hopes of managing several employees, as well as the timeline of their work. Previously, the company used Excel and Sheets (Google Drive) (more on this in a bit). It addresses the complications of time management for those who are number-resistant; ie - more visually friendly.
Visual management of time! Realistic management (multiple projects at once because not all projects operate independently of others where time is concerned). Data handling - reports, etc...

ProjectLibre is an Opensource alternative to Microsoft Project. it allows users to design workflows, track projects, and related expenses. It does most of everything most project management tools do. In my business, we use Project Libre when we are designing new products, and this helps a lot, so we don't put the cart before the horse or spend too much time waiting on something to complete when we could also be preparing something else. As we're going along the product development cycle, we develop a new product, and we can also start looking at packaging criteria and design even before we have the actual product in hand and also have everything ready as we need it.
It opens Microsoft Project files, therefore making it somewhat unrestricted in use or sharing files from MS Project. It has a simple and familiar user interface.

ProjectLibre is being utilized as a replacement for Microsoft Project. ProjectLibre is a low-cost option and allows all of the functionality to track projects and milestones. It is currently only being used by a small group in the department. It addresses the concerns of project track and allows for staying on track.
ProjectLibre is great for project management. It allows us to establish milestones and timeline planning for projects. It allows us to stay organized among multiple projects. It is extremely simple to use with a simple interface. It takes little time to plan out a project with key dates and provides a nice graphic.
