I like the funtionality of custom industries and competitor suggestions for key metrics and overtime trends. Organic and paid keywords analysis among competitors are also very helpful, seeing what keywords have most traffic share and how they are utilized in Search ads. While there is no tool that is 100% accurate, I think the data SW provides allows you to get a good idea of trends, volumes and user behaviour most of the time. They seem to be updating the platform frequently (V3 is on its way) and is relatively easy to use. Customer support is there if required and it has various use cases depending on your needs. I have attempted to contact support multiple times to try and get a fair trial to see data. It's been nothing but crickets for about four days. They are very keen on setting up a 1 to 1 chat with you on an automated calendar but not letting you try the software even after taking your credit card for absurdly high subscription fees. I use similarweb Pro on the free plan to research markets and new industries as part of my prospecting process. This tool gives a wide range of features for studying web traffic, competitor analysis and demographic breakdown. For that reason, it is super useful.

The reliability of their statistics has to be severely questioned, its even worse than Alexas efforts. Google states a set amount of traffic, Statcounter gave the same figures where as similarweb gave a totally different number and way out of proportion to the two above mentioned stat related websites.

After Alexa Pagerank quit in May this year, for unknown reasons, SimilarWeb seems to have become the autocrat. In any case, there is no alternative listed here that is even remotely as good. However, the Chrome extension does not work reliably, it tries to force an account creation and then the trial phase expires at some point, with the notice that you have to pay, but the price is not communicated transparently, but is only possible via contact. On reddit I read that the price is very negot...
