I am an accountant for several companies that use APS Payroll. While I do not run payroll, I use APS on a weekly basis for reporting and importing payroll data into the books. Given the scope of service APS provides to my clients, I feel that the cost is extremely reasonable. The service is also reliable. After using APS for nearly a decade, I can only recall one or two instances when payroll did not run on time. And then if I ever do not remember to call in my batch, let's say if it just slipped my mind or if I have other things going on demanding my attention that week, no one is there to catch my back and ask if we are submitting a batch that week.
