When I first started on Diligent, I was using the One-Click application for administrators. This works fine, but it was bulky and not very intuitive. Now with the new web-based design, it makes sharing materials so easy across all platforms. I enjoy that our meeting materials can be viewed on an iPhone or a Chromebook. Board members can receive push button notifications and easily access the materials using any interface. They can vote with the click of a button and the navigation through materials is consistent with other apps (i.e. swiping through the pages of a report, using your "pen" (your finger) and circling information, highlighting important text, and bookmarking pages.) Since COVID-19 hit and people transitioned to working from home - it felt like Diligent worked around the clock to meet their client needs. This was so appreciated on our end!! We asked for it - and Diligent delivered. Working with our Customer Service reps was a dream! We needed the web-based version to support voting - Diligent came through. We needed a way to provide our virtual meeting information - Diligent created a spot. We need to export documents to a PDF on the web-based version - Diligent made it happen. I have been so happy with the changes rolling into the web-based app! The administrator portion of the web-based design still needs some work. The Resource Center for multiple committees can be overwhelming and hard to navigate through. It defaults to "All Committees" for the Admin, which means reports may be mistakenly put under the wrong committee resource. There is also the fact that we can't custom create agendas in the agenda builder. It would be nice to add committee logos, change fonts and sizes, and rearrange the lines to make it more visually appealing. Right now, it's more of an input the data and the program spits out an agenda. This is nice and easy - but not the most visually appealing. The fact that we were displaced through the pandemic, really made our reliant on secure, digital sharing of information a necessity. We relied on Diligent for signing contracts, sharing confidential financial materials, as well as sharing of internal documents. We liked the Diligent platform so much, that part way through our transition to working from home, we brought 5 more meeting groups on to Diligent. This helped with our senior management to be able to access all of their different meeting materials in one secure location.

Diligent Boardbooks is very easy to use for the Administrator and the Board members. The greatest feature is having all final materials in one place for everyone to access. It's very easy to download and print a document, add notes to any documents and toggle between pages and books. During quarantine Diligent released new features and provided lots of training which was great to refresh and learn about features I didn't even know existed. They really do think of all aspects of a Board meeting from both the perspective of the administrator and the Board members. They now offer a web version along with the app. The web version is easy for administrator and I feel works much quicker than the app. We are very happy with Diligent and will always recommend them to others that are in search of a great management software. I don't see any downsides to using the software. It's exactly what we were looking for. I do wish that the enhancements were not a extra cost. There are a lot of enhancements that we would use but for the price just in the budget. The one enhancement that we will take advantage of is the online questionnaire. Right now it's done in a word document and we will soon move to Diligent.

No more paper Board Books circulating via courier Fast delivery of board materials and updates Interactive for Director's mark-ups and notes Confidential information We still need to make a PDF for non-designated Board Meeting guests. It's too bad you couldn't have a streamlined temporary set-up for a new guest in the meeting. Example would be a one-time user or when Auditors attend the meetings. You could place a timeline when they are allowed to view certain material from one date to and end date etc. Also, you could control which tabs they are only allowed to see. There isn't a secure product with this much support and ease of use out in the market today. If you are still emailing material or building paper board books or have Directors situated in different cities, you need to try this product. Able to securely send interactive information to people who are situated all over the world. Users can still make notes and mark-ups, similar to a paper books but this book is much easier to travel with and can be updated with new information instantaneously.

The ease of use for the Board. The ability for the end users to download all items using one button. the offline mode is very helpful. Inability to schedule repeat meetings. The fact that annotations are not accessible for the same user on different devices. For example, if I make notes on a presentation item on my laptop, the notes don't show when I open the same presentation item on my iPad or desktop. I don't like that prior versions of reloaded documents can be seen. If there is a mistake in a report and i need to replace it before a meeting, I have to delete the report and upload it again rather than reloading it. We are able to deliver paperless meetings easily. We no longer have the burden and expense of creating paper booklets and transporting them to meetings. Thank you so much for reviewing BoardPaq! We pride ourselves on being simple to navigate for directors and are so pleased to hear that yours agree! Regarding annotations, we now have a new functionality that will allow these to sync across all devices. Just update your BoardPaq iPad App and Web App to the new PDF viewer and this will work for you. The new PDF viewer upgrade will also remove the previous version document view! We have shared your feedback with our product team. Please know that repeating meetings is on our radar for the future and meeting templates can be helpful in the meantime. Please contact your Account Representative if you have any questions or need any assistance.

I love using Board Paq. It makes putting the agenda together so easy. Once I complete the agenda, I simply hit "publish" and the board members have complete access to everything. No more printing. The other thing I really appreciate it there are no more addendums... editing is live. I'd like to be able to simply add a row in a section, vs. dragging and dropping. (Similar to adding a row in Excel.) I'd like to be able to agenda items from previous agendas without having to use the entire template. Copying (from an email/Word document) and pasting into board Paq is sometimes difficult and the font/font size has a mind of it's own. (This has improved over the last year.) Best value for your money. Benefits include no longer having to print 20 board books for board members and administrators. It is much easier to use than our previous Word version of the agenda. For example, it is much easier to format because Board Paq does much of the formatting for me. Barb, thank you so much for taking the time to review BoardPaq! We are so happy that you find putting together the agenda to be simple and easy! We have shared your ideas regarding agenda builder quick adding vs. dragging and dropping and recycling agenda items with our product team. Thanks for being so specific it really helps is narrow in on what to improve upon! Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or if you need any assistance!

This was a product recommended to use by a trusted network contact. We did not look at any other systems for this kind of software. Once we evaluated its capabilities, it was evident that it met our needs. We implemented based on that work without looking at alternatives in the market in this instance.
It is well suited for companies with multiple boards that meet regularly. If you have five monthly panels, that's 60 meetings a year and 60 packs to set up and distribute and get minutes for votes and resolutions; if you throw in committees or anything else, it's a huge chunk of time just preparing. With Diligent, you can easily configure templates. Get the required information, set up the meetings, notify board members and ensure they have the very least up-to-date info, even if something was submitted 5 minutes before the start of the meeting. I would still recommend it if you don't have that many sessions, but the cost might outweigh the efficiencies.

I find that Diligent Boards is extremely user-friendly and the functions are advanced and appropriate in our circumstances. Being able to restrict access to certain members of papers within a book is very beneficial. I also think having the Web version is an asset as I know from our Users that this is advantageous, especially when their device is updated and they have forgotten their password to be able to download the app.
Easy to create a new 'book' or copy from an existing book Easy to upload papers including replacing/deleting Very good to be able to restrict access on certain papers within book Extremely beneficial for Users to access their account via the Web
Some new features require the Customer Success Manager/Diligent Team to activate them first, which can be time consuming and can result in delays in having these, especially when the features were outlined in a webinar a few months prior. For example, the self-service function. It would be good to have access to our contract within our account so I can keep track of the amount of contracted Users and whether we have exceeded our limit

We use Diligent Boards for quarterly board meeting purposes: uploading and displaying board meeting agendas, minutes, casting votes, applying signatures, etc.
We use Boards for upper-level Board and management meetings, and this is where we have found it to be most suitable.
Boards has done a wonderful job with providing ease of uploading materials and editing capabilities. Boards has made adding and deleting users quite simple and effective.
Please, please add the ability to download pdfs with links on your online Boards platform. It is the only thing keeping me from using the online version of Boards entirely. Boards support team is fairly helpful, though I feel like I am often having to resolve a bit more on my own even after "solutions" are provided. Boards support is, though, way more effective than Diligent Entities support- we have had a horrendous time with Entities support each time we use them. It is easier to try to resolve on my own, even though it takes up a lot of my time.

It saves me time in preparing for board meeting and committee meetings. Less printing of documents, so it saves time. It is more secure with no hard copies getting left around. Paperless meetings are the best way to go. The board members can view or access the material anywhere in the world and on any device. You are never out of reach so you can always attend important meetings while out of town, and with carrying no paper copies. You always have it at your fingertips. Documents can be loaded quickly, even in the middle of a meeting. The users never know new documents are being loaded, so no interruptions. I always know where to go back to find documents. it has been a real asset in this company.
It's secure, password protected, easy to use, very little training needed to use, has many features "built in" that I love, i.e. automatic save as you build the sites. Can view documents from any device. I love the "note taking" feature and the ability to do questionnaires, vote for board items option, and fingerprint sign-on. I also love the drag and drop method to load documents onto your sight, and the ability to drag your tabs into another position. I love how there is always a new feature being implemented or developed. They listen to the customer and create what "you" think is important. The program moves you through the pages quickly. It never gets bogged down. Our Board of Directors love Boardbooks and plan to continue using this product for a long time. We have all of our committees and our main board meetings on Diligent Boardbooks. We love the paperless feature and the security of our documents. We never have to worry about confidential information being in the wrong hands. We are fans!! We can't say enough good things about Diligent Boards and the great people at Diligent. Great Customer Service! Friendly! Professional. Always available to help you day or night. We have used Diligent Boards since 2010 and they have never let us down. They are well trained professionals. They help make your job easier! Thanks Diligent!
Many more Pros than cons. If I have an issue with the product/software, its because I am not using it correctly. The only thing I can think of is, that it may be nice to have an "undo" feature in case I accidentally choose the incorrect option and something gets deleted. It has not happened yet.

I like Diligent. I like uploading the books. I think the part of saving the book and having an easier time of choosing the correct people is rough. Also you can not change the email addresses or delete anyone on the email to notify the Board that the book has been released.
I like drag and drop of the documents for our Board of Directors committee meetings. I organized the documents in the correct order so when I put the book together it is a fast and easy process.
The four actions that I have experienced to create a problem. 1. When the difference sections of the book are uploaded, if you save the book and go back in, you have to save the whole book again or it will not be released. 2. When the book is completed, making sure the right people receive the book. Having to go out of the book to go back into the book to edit and chose who gets it. 3. Making sure that the Board Members have refreshed their iPads so they can see the books. We have had problems with the Board of Directors not being able to open their books. Sometimes it is IS settings that have to be updated. But NO One wants the Board yelling that they can not read their books. 4. We are going to have a test page the day before the Board Meetings to see if anyone is having a problem opening their book or documents.

Diligent can be used as a way to securely communicate with the Board across various access points - from uploaded materials to surveys to messages - and I love how widely-known it is. Our directors are familiar with it, and even if they aren't they can easily learn how to use it because it's so intuitive. Diligent provides hands-on, 24/7 help and support, and that can make all the difference in the world before a big board meeting. Overall, we are very satisfied and plan to stick with Diligent for years to come!
The three things that make Diligent stand out to me are: - 1) It is easy to use, both on the administrator side and the user side. The features are intuitive and easy-to-learn. - 2) Their customer service is amazing! We really appreciate [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] for always being there for us, ready to answer a question or assist with an issue. - 3) It is highly secure and provides a sense of comfort in knowing our materials are safe and protected. We are very satisfied customers!
I can't think of any complaints. It's true that they're on the pricier side, but you're paying for a lot more than a board portal - you're paying for research, for ingenuity, for corporate governance guidance, for the latest technology, and for top-notch customer service - so it's worth the price tag!

    Outstanding!
When we switched over to Diligent, we were expecting a bit of a transition period. But we were pleasantly surprised that everyone found it so easy to jump into this program because the design is so intuitive and very little training was required to operate it. The software has also has gorgeous and elegant aesthetics which makes it very appealing. It's a fast and secure way to handle sensitive information. Our board members are able to access the information both in online and offline mode, while TouchID ensures that only those who have permission can see them. It also allows us to move away from a paper-based environment which are also a security risk.
I think the years that the developers have spent studying how board members work and interact has truly paid off because you have a simply outstanding software that serves its customers well. I think the only thing that could possibly make it better is if they increased the scrolling speed when you're looking through a lot of files.

Before switching to Diligent Boards, our users had severe difficulty accessing, producing and sharing their content at quarterly retreats. Our support personnel received large amounts of tickets to assist with these activities. After switching, our users appear happy with the product and our support requests have decreased dramatically.
Our Board had previously used SharePoint sites and document libraries to host their content. Managing their materials and even granting the correct access to sensitive materials proved to be very inefficient and frustrating for them.
The solution is easy to use and can be accessed from a multitude of devices. One of the best features is how document changes and approvals are tracked. You can also easily grant/restrict access to content meant for Board sub-committee members.
The solution is expensive and will be cost-prohibitive for smaller organizations. Everything works well and the support is top notch, but the value proposition can be hard to justify.

Overall, Diligent is a great product compared to how I used to do Board reports before. It was more archaic how I used to do Board reports so Diligent has definitely changed how I do the reports and has greatly improved how easy it is to do Board reports.
What I like most is the agenda for each book being created by the software. Plus page numbering is automatic.
There can be some improvements on certain Excel sheets that do not transfer over correctly to Diligent. For example, if the Excel sheet shows one page, it then converts to two pages in Diligent. Currently I convert some Excel sheets to PDF as a workaround. Also redlined Word documents do not convert exactly over to Diligent. Tracked changes sometimes change to a different color or bubbles that show formatting changes are shown on right-hand side of Word document when the original does not show this. Also, I convert Word document to PDF as a workaround. This is why I rated ease of use as 4 stars.
