In its day, QlikView was a strong and innovative BI platform. We are still using dashboards built in Qlik with great drill-down capabilities. For data analysis and insights it gets the job done! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

QlikView is not a visually appealing tool and therefore is a Consultants nightmare. The tool only allows picture extracts for the graphs, which look terrible in PPT. Also, some level of coding is required to make the graphs visually appealing. For example, I had to modify the script and add left joins to create a customer sequence of values on the X axis. The tool's UI allows the user to sort the x axis A-Z, or by magnitude, but does not allow for customer sorts. This is just one example of the user interface not playing nice. The issue is selecting columns. I do not think it take big data in well. It is case sensitive which makes things very difficult and it really has issues loading. It is meant for big data it should be able to handle it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We rolled out QlikView in a lot of departments. We used QlikView with the Sales and Marketing organization to show key metric dashboards. This product was well received as it was easy and intuitive to use. The dashboards were easy to build and modify. IT supported the application with ease. Loved this tool.

QlikView is being used across the whole organization both on Web and Mobile platforms. Due to QlikView's user driven approach to the Business Intelligence, we have a wide range of business users from the field people to the executive management. We mainly adress the business problems such as performance and activity reporting.

In this particular case, Qlikview was the incumbent. Tableau is similar and should also be evaluated to see which best meets your organization's needs.
We enjoyed the ability to share a session. This session allowed end-users to share a dashboard, manipulate it, and collaborate on the results in real-time. See more here - http://robertbgoodman.wordpress.com/2013/05/24/real-time-data-collaboration-by-qlikview/

It is used by finance and all of the various product line management teams to help determine the financial information not only of the company as a whole but down to specific items in our global portfolio. We can track high and low performing products over specific periods of time.
Is not user-friendly out of the gate. It takes some time to understand how to navigate through the data to get what you want. Is limited to the data the finance team feel the users want to see. Cannot control finite amounts of filtering. While it can and does filter data well the presentation of the data has a very late 90's early 2000's feel to it with no way to change.

We use QlikView to visualize aggregated data for our projects. The last project that I worked on was an auditing system. I pull numbers of files accessed and number of database reads that the auditing system generated and graph these numbers on a daily basis. Once a day, I look the QlikView-generated graphs to determine if their is any spike in the numbers. If there is, then I look into the spike and attempt to determine why it happened. This is a very easy and quick way of looking at the content of about twenty emails to determine if there were any abnormal audit items.
We found that QlikView can be a bit slow in supporting some forms of encryption. It is web-based and we needed to upgrade all of our server to not support the older SSL and TLS 1 protocols, only support TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3. However, QlikView could not run with TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3. We had to wait over six months to get a version that would handle the newer TLS versions. There are so many options with QlikView that you can get lost when developing a visualization. There are still items I have not yet figured out, such as labeling a graph with the name of a selected detail item. QlikView works by pulling the data it is going to use for visualization into its database. I am a security reviewer and I need to make certain that PII and PHI is not pulled by QlikView for a visualization, otherwise this could become a reportable indecent.

Qlik was trialed within our data intelligence group. We examined it against a known dataset with various other toolsets.
    Ease of use. Pricing model.
