The Live Chat was actually helpful! I typically like dealing with support for my software over the phone. But Brittany was patient and answered all of my many questions! Walked me through certain things and was able to get me to understand her answers clearly. I do like that Lacerte can talk to Big Time. I love that for our reference when we get an issue resolved or we get something clarified; we can request that the chat transcript be sent to us. And we can use that to study, create, or adjust our own processes from there. I also like that we can assign clients who are spouses different roles for ease of knowing whom to contact for billing or who to contact for all tax matters. This helps us to avoid a lot of confusion and frustration once we know right out of the gate, which spouse to reach for what. We have plenty of places to input multiple phone numbers and emails. Setting user rights is helpful so that we limit who has access to which BT areas could end up billable by mistake. I also like how simple it is to set up new clients; we can be as detailed as we want with the information we put in. I don't like that Big Time can't "talk to" Lacerte and that the invoices and billing we create in Lacerte don't pull to Big time. We were hoping for a more streamlined software connection. Also, it's not always clear what needs to match from Lacerte to Big Time in order to make sure integrations go smoothly from Lacerte to BT. It would be nice to have a list made available of the things that need to match and what things cannot be pulled over from Lacerte. We do have to go back to Live Chat quite a bit to figure these things out. The big plus is how helpful Live chat is. We still prefer to have a phone number for support, especially during tax time. It will not always be feasible for us to wait in a queue in an office that processes over 1,000 tax returns each season. Also when integrating from Lacerte to BT there was mention that duplicates of clients may not be avoidable and that BT will not always show you or even provide a hint as to which client profile is the duplicate. This will require painstaking work to individually research every duplicate and determine which to delete or make inactive. Time we don't always have. It would be nice if duplicates were highlighted and the mismatch information was also, highlighted that way we can at a glance see which to keep. I would also like for BT Live chat to have a list of topics that we can choose from and certain issues that would be made priority and be able to jump the line as it were in the queue. Not everyone requesting live chat assistance has the same level of emergency. It would also be helpful if BT could provide groups of companies whether determined by state or industry, with account managers or dedicated support teams that we know we could reach out to for priority level issues that would be resolved within a specific time frame of no later than 24 hours or sooner depending on the level of importance of the issues. We can use 1 system for both our timesheets and for keeping track of how many billable hours we put into each client. And that we can have multiple timers for different tasks to see how we are splitting our time gives us insight into our process and our day to day. We are able to look at how we spend our time and adjust any procedures or fine tune or eliminate as needed.

The user interface works better than other time-keeping software I've used. Timers are simple and intuitive. But the BIG difference is the reporting. As the business owner, I dig on reports, and BigTime has them in spades. It APPEARS to have great reporting at every level. The on-boarding process needs work. Their billing starts on day one -- before I even logged in -- and once logged in you understand that the setup is a bear. You've got to make a few key decisions about HOW you will run the system to get the reporting you want.... But the BT staff are no help. Their onboarding teaches you the function of each icon, but they are no help at all with setting the strategy -- or even just setting up the data to work for your business. :-( We worked like dogs to make this work for about 3 months.... then pretty much gave up. My dashboard now says that I have $12 million of unbilled work, and that I make $12,000 per hour. I wish some of that were true, but it's just garbage... which is how I'm starting to feel about BigTime in general. Good idea... no execution. Don't walk, run. Or at least commit yourself to a months long process of setting up clients, synching to QB, re-learning to run invoices, and, oh yea, waiting to hear back from their tech support team. I will note that our troubles were primarily during 2021, when they could have been short-staffed. My emails to folks at all levels of the business went unreturned - -- except for those that bounced because so many of their people quit. For an IT company, you'd think you'd have a system to route customer emails to people who were still working! But hey, today (May 2022), they seem no better. We called to DOWNGRADE our service to their basic time-keeping platform, and they literally could not tell us the cost, the features, or even whether our historical data would be available after the switch. So frutustrated! "UTILIZATION" rates. We wanted to know when our people are available and how much time overall they are working vs. available -- IN ADVANCE. Unfortunately, that never happened. The "ALLOCATION" function of BigTime promised to help us predict utilization several months in the future... Unfortunately, that never happened either. We've now had BT for 12 months, and have used only the time keeping function. Worse, we can't even get it to synch with QBO, so we have to take reports OUT of BT and put them back into QBO to run invoices. All of this is because BT staff couldn't be bothered to reply to our cries for help.

BigTime is much more user-friendly than many other platforms we've used or tested. The interface is simple and intuitive, which lends itself to a very easy rollout to staff. The reporting is much more robust than we've previously had in our former system. We've cut our invoicing time down by a week so far, and we aren't even fully set up. There is a LOT more flexibility in invoicing, and it's great that BigTime talks directly to Quickbooks...our old platform did NOT directly sync with Quickbooks and that added so much work to my plate. By far, the best thing about BigTime is its customer service. We are still working through getting things set up, and their implementation and support team are beyond outstanding. At the end of the day, the minor issues we've had are worth dealing with because the service is there, and the team at BigTime will work with you to personalize your setup as much as is necessary. As an Operations Manager, I pick vendors who make my life easier, and the team at BigTime definitely do that. The worst thing about BigTime right now is that it is still clearly in the early stages of development, so we've run into quite a few minor issues that turn out to be bugs they need to fix on their end or features they need to add or adjust. So far, it all falls under the "minor annoyance" level and nothing has crippled us. We had a much more antiquated system that required a LOT of manual moving of data between Quickbooks and the system. Additionally, that took a lot of time and created a lot of errors. With BigTime we've nearly eliminated the element of human error in our timekeeping and invoicing. We're incredibly excited to get more data into the system and use the utilization dashboard more. As of now, though, we've cut a week out of our invoicing timeline. The approval process for timesheets and invoices has also gone a LOT faster than we've had before. Managers are reporting that this is much less labor-intensive than before, and is saving everyone a lot of time.

In BT I liked: - good, clean, beautiful, modern and responsive UI; - overall stable work - I do not remember any issues related to stability of website or data durability; - good functionality and integrations (for example with QuickBooks); - flexible reports engine. We switched to BigTime from another widely used tools - Redmine, so some things I dislike existed in Redmine and do not exists here, for example: - direct links to tasks where I can track time (instead I need to remember Project and Phase); - separate processes and buttons to Submit and Approve times - I and other colleagues often forget after tracking time submit it; - useless inital dashboard - I think better to show some role-based page (for example for employees tracking table and for approvers timesheet and so); - no easy way to export data as I understood. There is a way to request data export via separate process via Support, but I expect something like menu button "Export my data to ..." We need our employees track time in convenient and timely manner, so we able to prepare invoices and bill clients. As I mentioned above we used Redmine earlier and we decided to switch to BT to overcome problems that we collected over 8 years in Redmine usage: - bunch of custom plugins for Redmine which supported by us - for example for employee rates per project; - slow work - Redmine really slow even on high-end hardware (most likely because of ruby-based nature); - integrations with other services like QuickBooks - we do not want to develop another Redmine plugin and then support it.

BigTime compiles time and expense by engagement and provides nearly endless options for internal reporting. Training by Brannon Hollingsworth is very helpful. Budget to actual tracking and Invoice generation. To track time and expense against the established budget you are required to generate an invoice by 'budget item/task'. If you generate an invoice subtotaled by anything else (person, description, date, etc.) it will not track against the budget. When generating an invoice, the heading and description of services being invoiced is separated nicely on separate lines on your computer screen; however, when you export to PDF or use the 'email invoice' function, BigTime merges the heading and description all into one line separated by a period (.). This requires us to export each invoice to word, manually re-separate the heading from the description on different lines, then save as a pdf. Each month this creates an additional 3-4 hours of work for us. Be prepared to have to export your invoice to word, manually update the formatting to look professional, then save as a pdf and print/mail or email. We moved from paper timesheets to BigTime so it helps the company with compilation of time, faster invoice generation, and better internal reporting.

This product was grossly misrepresented to me by the sales team. They don't understand the capabilities of the software and only want to make a sale. It is not a good software for me and a terrible fit. I specifically said I didn't want to have to integrate with QB and now that is the only option I have to get reports and billing invoices. It will take many hours to reconcile back to QB and at this point, it would take less time to start over with a new software.

After devoting many hours to BigTime I realized they would NEVER be able to meet our needs. I had paid for a full year and so asked for reimbursement for the remaining time in the contract because BigTime COULD NOT PERFORM. Management denied my request. This is foolish, short sighted management. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

BigTime Software blows Zoho out of the water because it's all in one place and the customer service is 1000x better than Zoho. It's easy to get answers and understand where the problem is and how to fix it. Zoho was confusing, didn't communicate well between modules, and the customer service was terrible.
BigTime Software provides a plethora of client types, project statuses, task types, and task groupings in order to specifically and accurately track your time. With this array of information, filtering and isolating the correct information is attainable for detailed segmented work specifically in invoicing. The problem is that arranging and getting everything correct typed and statuses set can be cumbersome.
Specific project-based time tracking Invoicing based on detailed time entries that assimilate into personalized template invoices The in-product customer service chat is extremely helpful and the representatives are knowledgable

I liked the client management, but it didn't do time tracking, billing or syncing with quickbooks. It was too robust for my needs. I tried it for the client management and thought I might use it along with bigtime, but it was too cumbersome and would involve too much double entry. And it didn't track time or bill which are necessary functions.
For the price and it's capabilities, it is the best practice management software out there. I tested quite a few before I purchased this one. Lots of software syncs with quickbooks online, but very few sync with quickbooks desktop and that makes this one unique. My firm is a full service accounting firm and we manage over 1,000 personal tax projects and hundreds of bookkeeping and accounting engagements and BigTime does this well. It's client information management could be better and ability to produce reports could use improvement. Also when syncing, sometimes transactions are doubled and it is difficult to remove the second transaction.

As I've said above, fee tracking and time tracking have really tightened up for our company thanks to BigTime. We're able to know the health of our projects in one click with a report.
Our small business needed a platform to help us accurately track the financial health of our projects. We moved to BigTime from QuickBooks Online because we needed deeper control of our time entries and fee tracking. The Report Center really leverages the data entered into the system so that at a push of a button your data is organized and presented in an easy to understand report. Custom reports are a great feature, and with the help of the support team you can create whatever report your company needs. Thanks to BigTime we've been able to track the health of our projects with precision, and the overall health of our company has BigTime to thank. Everyone we've worked with at BigTime ([SENSITIVE CONTENT]) have been extremely friendly and helpful whenever we've come to them with a problem or request.
As BigTime has grown over the years they've taken their users suggestions to heart. If a feature isn't currently active on BigTime it most likely is in the pipeline for future integration. We've seen our suggestions turn into real features throughout the duration of our use of the platform which is always great to see when companies listen to their customers. Sometimes the reporting center isn't as intuitive as you'd like it to be, but with a little help from their support team they can help custom build your reports with you.

Companies who bill their customers by the hour and have different hourly rates for different types of work can benefit greatly from using BigTime. Time and expenses can be entered by employees and reviewed by managers before being sent to the client for billing. It's convenient that you may log your time and expenses from any device, be it a desktop computer, laptop, or mobile phone.
We log time worked, manage client engagements, keep tabs on contact details, and generate invoices using this tool. As I began my hunt for a practice management solution, I knew I needed something that would sync with Quickbooks desktop and allow me to keep track of both time and projects while also keeping tabs on clients. I found very few programs that met all my needs, and this was one of them.
BigTime is the program we use for tracking time, managing expenses, and sending out invoices. Using QuickBooks as our primary accounting software has its advantages, and one of those is that BigTime can sync up with QuickBooks during the day to make sure that the two are always up to date.
The approval screen does not currently allow for invoices to be filtered by Team Lead, so all Team Leads have access to all invoices rather than just their own. It's not easy to modify your own report, therefore we typically have to contact support for assistance.

We are just getting started with BigTime, so I can't speak yet to the changes it's made for our organization. However, if the enthusiasm my team has displayed about potential benefits BigTime can offer us is any indication, we are going to be very happy indeed! The BigTime sales rep was so helpful, friendly, responsive, and informative while he was walking us through the product demonstrations that I feel like I know the software fairly well even though my hands-on experience with it is still minimal. I think the biggest challenge will just be to get everything configured in a way that allows us to get the most out of it. Based on my experience with customer service, I have no doubt that they will help us over any hurdles that pop up if we need to reconfigure things at a later time.
OpenAir is very, very expensive, cumbersome, has poor customer service, and claims to offer updates that never come through.
    - Dedicated, personalized customer service. - Lots of customization options. - Thorough training process to help us make the most of the software. - Customers can make requests for software updates or changes, and BigTime is responsive to them.
    - The grey, tan and orange color scheme, and I'm only mentioning that because I have to write something in this section!

I have been using BigTime for about 6 months now and could not be happier. In my previous company, I purchased a time tracking software for my employees and bookkeeping and it was a disaster. It didn't integrate with Quickbooks, was cumbersome to use, fouled up our taxes and was extremely expensive. Conversely, BigTime has been a huge breath of fresh air. It integrates seamlessly with QuickBooks, allows me to easily track my time, expenses, and create invoices. I can readily see where I am with project budgets verses time spent and can easily gauge when it is time to bill. I am now a sole proprietor and have to wear all of the hats of the business. Having BigTime has been an indispensable tool in being able to manage the "business" side of the business easily and efficiently. The customer service (specifically through my personal Account Manager) is outstanding. If I ever have a question, he has solved it through timely and knowledgeable feedback or it has been resolved with a quick online chat with support. As you can tell, I can't say enough about this software and am so glad that I found it (and wish I would have found it sooner).
I honestly can't think of anything that I would change

The best approach to keep track of many projects' time and expenditures. Invoicing is also a breeze because to the platform's user-friendly interface. I can view all of my projects and team members in this platform, and we can all manage everything together. The Bigtime team's assistance is also a big plus in my book.
When I've run across problems with my reports, I've always been able to get assistance from support (s). You may see how your reports were made so you can improve your own work.
It's a piece of software that performs exactly what it's supposed to and does it well. The process of implementation was quite fair, and the accompanying customer service was excellent. Time tracking and the ability to divide it into other sections if necessary. For numerous projects, I've taken use of the platform's ability to develop custom reports, which have been useful.
BigTime doesn't always communicate to itself, so you have to dig a little further to find the answer you're looking for. In addition, I've used BigTime's "help" option and spoken with a live person who was able to diagnose my difficulties immediately away.
