Rippling was instituted by my employer a few years back and since I was first introduced to it I was impressed with its ease of use, its speed, and it's utility. They continue to release well vetted new features, and across Windows and Apple, online and on the app, I am always able to find what I need quickly. It is straightforward to assign company-wide and individual HR/management actions, and then employees can readily act upon these requirements from within their own dashboards. There are a lot of bugs and many times you have to contact support for them to fix issues (which they try to do quite quickly). It doesnt fully do what is says it does and what is communicated on their website or in sales doesnt materialise in the product. I would advise potential buyers to lengthen the sales process and really evaluate in depth if it works for your organization. Rippling promised us that they were working to add people to improve human-to-human communication. Communication has gotten worse, in fact it's terrible. The have missed state payroll tax filing deadlines twice. When you reach out you can't talk to anyone and online responses take up to two-weeks. We pressed them to obtain answers at times and the feedback is, "we are growing very quickly but you are in queue. When dealing with taxes and payroll it's not a company you can trust. The software automatically adds seats when new employees are hired, but Rippling doesn't allow customers to decrease the seat count when employees are offboarded. They automatically increased our seat count when we hired several temporary employees, but they required us to pay for up to 200% of our headcount for seven months after they were offboarded. They quote the pricing based on your "headcount", but they don't tell you that the pricing isn't based on your actual headcount. They have the ability to decrease headcount automatically but choose to overcharge their customers instead automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We use it as our HR platform to hire all internal employees. Employees can use it to access benefits, paid time off, vacation time, W2s, pay stubs, and any other HR-related things they need. This is what we use to manage all 1,000 employees. This coupled with our CSS to manage who we are reaching out to and the shifts they work, we don't use anything else.

Overall, we felt we were sold a really expensive lie with this system. The main functionality we wanted--the automatic integration with all of our tools to make onboarding easier, didn't actually exist. When we started to use it, it quickly became "oh, well you still have to go into Dropbox to purchase licenses, we don't fully integrate with them" and "oh yeah, MS Office you can't do through our system either because of the licensing" so we ended up doing all of these things manually anyways. Their customer service has been extremely poor, and they're also one of the more expensive products on the market. I don't recommend this tool at all--I think they have a really long way to go in improving their product, and I'm honestly amazed that there are so many high reviews on this site.

I highly recommend Rippling to any business, especially small businesses. They have the capacity to scale any company's needs. Regarding my small business, it changed my whole HR game. Before it would take me or an employee almost two hours a week to run payroll and administer benefits. Now I do the whole process myself in less than 10 minutes. The new system did take some getting used to, but now I am familiar with process and the value Rippling provides me is incredible.

Rippling streamlined our onboard / offboarding process, making it very easy for various tasks to be assigned to the people that need to take care of them. Employee onboarding and offboarding is greatly optimized. Rippling will enable accounts in a number of our other systems (email, IM, time tracking, cloud hosting and other SAAS services) and also de-activate them when the employee leaves. We are ending up with a single location for IT and HR services and employee enablement.
