My "specialist" seemed to be learning on the job, and provided inaccurate information multiple occasions. I can forgive errors, but not when it results in my employees not having health benefits. This alone is reason for me to switch providers, but add to that slow support response times and a number of obvious software bugs and you get a picture of a company that is trying to grow too fast. Zenefits didn't file any of the state taxes despite saying they would - leaving a massive mess for us to clean up We therefore decided to terminate, and Zenefits has all our employee records and refuses to turn them over and shut off all access, making it impossible for many of our employees who didn't get these records prior to termination to turn them over. Implementation was also incredibly painful and had none of the support they promised they'd provide.

We are a small 8-team member business. We did our own payroll for years but finally decided that dealing with forever changing governmental regulation was no longer feasible nor with our time. We began to use Zenefits in the fall of 2020 and despite a rocky start, we forged on and turned payroll over to them completely.
First and foremost, customer service. You cannot call Zenefits and speak with a human. Payroll calculations have been a constant issue and are impossible to get corrected. Tax forms were completed improperly and cannot be corrected.

I love the onboarding and sales process. Every person I talk with at Zenefits is pleasant and understanding. Whoever is in charge of the software development and customer service systems should be fired. In order to get a question answered one has to submit to a complex matrix of categories and subjects. I rarely could find the particular category that I needed. Tax Services are a joke. I just received an email on Feb 16 2021 for a quick question that I had on May 7th of 2020. If you have any need for any changes that require a human, find a different way.
