Going by Zoho's appraisal tool, there is no way I will recommend any product. The lack of decent support even for paid plan, and lack of basic features, only shows what low quality/bar they have set out for themselves. I am now curious to know how bad other Zoho products are and might try them out only to know / learn how not to do things. Perhaps others can use Zoho appraisal system as case study on how not to build / launch products.

We use Zoho People on a large scale. Where we keep track of the progress of one individual. We can monitor the progress of a peers USing PMS, set up monthly & quarterly goals, and review and rate the goals. It also keeps track of many other things like attendance, Log-ins & outs, it is a very effective ticketing tool as well.

Zoho People is used as an auxiliary HR platform by our company. Although we would love to have Zoho People be our primary and sole HR platform, there are still some holes and UX issues that are preventing us from doing so.

Zoho People is designed to manage employee for small companies where we can access all employee data and manage their leaves, performance, customized roles

We are using Zoho People for filing and tracking human resources information as well as across the organization for tracking attendance. We have a fairly unique organizational structure in that all of our staff are self-supported, so most of us work other jobs and scheduling can be difficult. The time tracking feature of Zoho People has been really helpful for creating some accountability for time in the office. It's nice that that feature is part of a program we were already using (we also use Zoho Recruit for applications), and the app is great as well.

(I ran out of room in the "What did i like least) section.. so I'll continue here) The many many times I contacted support they were very slow to respond, unhelpful, and more than a little condescending... Many times I wound up skipping customer support and contacting the sales representative who was trying to get me to use the software (he was financially motivated to help me) Overall - Zoho People is an unrefined, difficult to use and poorly supported piece of software. I wish it weren't so! But.. alas...

Before using Zoho People for vacation scheduling, our HR department struggled to schedule time off. Since starting to use the tool in the early part of the year, it's been easy to schedule time off. Additionally, the approval process used to take a long time; now it's faster and easier. The system makes it easy to see how many vacation days each team member has left. It also shows which team members are out because of sickness and which have already taken vacation days.

When starting off using Zoho People and contacting customer support, I had thought they were a very small start-up company.
