Simply, easy to navigate, on both the administrative side (employer) as well as for the users (employees). Using Ease definitely minimizes paperwork, therefore reducing my workload; a one-stop shop for sure! There really are not any downsides to Ease and so far I have not encountered anything that I dislike. It does become difficult to use all the wonderful features Ease offers when employees say they don't use or have an email address; thankfully there aren't too many people without email addresses. Time constraints- trying to meet with all of the employees to explain benefits. I don't have to worry about stressing to catch the different employees working different shifts. Saves on paper and printer toner as I don't have to print out paper applications/enrollment forms for most employees any longer. Ease is far more efficient than scanning and emailing documents to the insurance broker who then will forward them to various insurance companies; cutting out the extra set of hands will ensure things don't get overlooked, missed, lost etc. Changes are easy to carry out on ease so hopefully, I won't have to deal with the headache of having to locate the correct docs to submit. It's definitely going to save a lot of time.

The ability to sign forms digitally and for Aflac enrollments to go directly to Aflac. Also, the ability for brokers to route enrollment reports directly to insurance providers. Some limitations of the software being unable to understand some specific situations during benefits enrollment. Like when employees elect an HDHP but then want a full medical FSA without an HSA, the system only understands the ability to offer an employee a limited-purpose FSA. That and the inability for the system to give an estimated deduction for benefits that require approval first, tricking some employees into thinking that a specific voluntary benefit is fully paid by the company. If your broker offers ease for free to use for benefits administration, and you don't have another virtual benefits enrollment portal set up, Ease is a no-brainer. But if you're looking around for more robust and flushed out platforms that can do a lot of different kinds of benefits admin, I think there are better options in the market. The ability to offer an open enrollment program that works great in a 100% remote working environment has been a big help. We were doing just paper enrollments prior to Ease.

Ease is extremely user-friendly and a vital part of our HR toolkit. From Open Enrollment of benefits to onboarding new employees, Ease provides us with everything we need to check off those boxes. With a clear and straightforward interface, staff members are able to easily complete their enrollment requirements without the involvement of management. Having used Ease with two companies, 80+ employees and over many years, I can't imagine doing business without Ease. Highly recommend! The strength of Ease's useability is dependent on a great agency staff behind the scenes. That said, if we ever need something added to our document library or help with an employee's issues, Ease is quickly able to add what we need without delay or interruption. Ease has saved us countless man-hours and negated in-person meetings to implement our Open Enrollment period. This frees up management staff to a great degree. Additionally, the adding of new staff is controlled by management, with a few clicks, instead of depending on another company's availability and schedule. This represents a huge time savings for us.

Ease's marketplace has a significant number of integrations across multiple categories, such as payroll, CRM, and some carriers. It allows the abbility for third parties to assist with portal design so renewals et al don't have to be propagated in house. It also happens to be the de-facto benadmin standard for general agencies so back office support is fairly robust. Since its inception, Ease has and continues to be an incomplete solution to the problem of benefits management. Specifically, it has staggeringly stupid internal logic. When an employee enrolls, the system document generator is flatly unable to determine WHICH plan documents are truly required from both a carrier and submission standpoint. Example: If you have a group with 2 dental options (HMO and PPO) requiring different apps and a medical carrier wrap (HMO and PPO), the system will spit out for a new enrollment: 2 dental apps, 2 health apps, and 4 total change forms. Yes, the system doesn't understand the difference between "enroll," "waive," and "change" so it's up to the user to sift through the multiple files and propagate the correct ones. Continuing this trend of "stupid paperwork processing" the system is ENTIRELY UNABLE to handle manual terminations. That's right, there is zero capability for the system to propagate terms from a paperwork standpoint. Sure, if you're lucky enough to have groups that have EaseConnect+ (API) enabled its a non-issue but considering the majority of health carriers are still stuck on spreadsheets and punch cards, this will be a few years yet. If you have carriers that still don't allow online roster maintenance be prepared to manually fill out term forms constantly. Let's get to their integrations: it's hit or miss. They have a feature called "EaseConnect+" which is essentially a list of carriers that have enhanced API connections to Ease. This is nice. When it's supported. Which is rare on the medical side. Ancillary carriers are getting good about it but most health carriers still use EDI which can't be used in Ease for roster maintenance. So there's no external way to automate roster changes or coverage confirmation. Other integrations such as payroll are also nice but (A) often come with an additional price tag that the employer is loathe to pay -- which puts it on the broker, and (B) are ridiculously convoluted, often requiring you: 1. enable in your broker marketplace, 2. enable in the client marketplace, 3. complete a form/script on Ease, 4. wait eons for either Ease or the 3rd party to respond, and 5. often have to complete MORE paperwork because the Ease form/script doesn't work properly. Renewal workflow is a nightmare. The entire process for broker, employer, and employee are exceedingly obtuse offering very few communications options other than crap email templates. Tracking is inefficient and poorly documented. Also, support sucks. You can only submit emails/tickets and wait. No phone support, no dedicated rep support. Solutions are often summarized as "ah, well." The only reason I would recommend Ease is if you are getting to use it for free through your GA or absolutely need an EB-only system for high turnover groups. Otherwise there are better on the market. Allows me to service more -- and larger -- groups than processing manually.

It's relatively easy to set a new employee up and send an email to them to complete their enrollment. we use it mostly to generate reports showing the premium and breakdown of cost for the employer employee and dependents Reports are not customizable. (Add or remove fields) Enrollment summaries are not customizable (Can't be sorted alphabetically) Fields are not customizable (no alternative for "Enroll" for example Get a Quote, or Contact Rep) Dependents cannot be deleted Rates are often wrong. Dependents are not automatically made ineligible once they reach 26 It would be nice if it stored applications from previous years. Employee insurance rates are being calculated based on the wrong age. Just be aware of limitations and be very thorough about cross checking rates. If it is only being used as an enrollment portal then it works perfectly. Tracking Enrollment status. Proving that benefits were offered to and employee. Tracking Cost of Healthcare. Making Plan Summaries available to employees Reports Tracking Changes made to benefits Tracking Dependent Eligbility Generating Insurance Applications sending mass emails for open enrollment Storing Beneficiary Information Calculating Cost of Healthcare using the Enrollment Census

support is easy and always ready to help. Easy to use. Relatively Inexpensive if you are a very small agency and need an enrollment platform. That there is not a CRM system to it and you are forced to use Ease Connect + if your accounts have any of those carriers tied to the account. When we tried to use it as a CRM as well, it did not work once Ease Connect + came in. That is a horrible system and messes up all kinds of stuff on the carrier end and our end. Also it is not real time so if you need real time you need to do it yourself with the carrier. We hated it and therefore we are leaving ease for Zywave in a couple of months. It is NOT a CRM so you need another system for that. And you will be forced to connect to Ease Connect + and that is not a good thing. compliance with enrollments and the HR piece is good too.

My general agency Warner Pacific recommended EaseCentral and I checked it out. Seemed like a great fit and well worth the investment. I know other colleagues that use and are happy with Employer Navigator and some of the other ones. I have not checked out many other options because Warner Pacific did all that research and work for me. 2 thumbs up for EaseCentral.
My clients are very small all the way up to 100+ Employees. It's easy to use and intuitive for me as the broker, my group admin. clients and their employees. Specifically fast & easy to set up and easy for employees to enroll. Recommendations to others considering the product... This is a very effective tool for an employee benefit broker and consultant. It has benefit administration, paperless new hire employee on-boarding, and HRIS if needed. Two huge thumbs up. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Paperless HR and benefit enrollment all online. I've been able to work with more group clients, more efficiently, effectively, faster and easier.
User interface is easy on the eyes. People seem to be able to pick it up really easy, it's simple to operate and has a nice clean look. It's insurance carrier & service vendor "agnostic"...works with every insurance carrier we work with and has numerous preferred vendor partnership with some of the other services our clients want access through all from EaseCentral. Great support team when questions arise. Pretty self explanatory.
Some of the connected exterior apps and other services from the Marketplace seem complex. Honestly, there's not much that I don't like so it's difficult to come up with cons.

We used Selerix BenSelect for a brief amount of time (we were able to use the system free of charge because our brokers at the time offered it). It wasn't quite as user-friendly/easy to figure out, but it definitely offered better reporting capability. The file feeds seemed to work fine.
Ease Central is nice to have if you need something and aren't too picky. It is helpful to have the availability of file feeds - so that's a lot less work and time put in for benefits enrollments, but it seems to take a long time to get the feeds set up properly. Also, the reporting capability does not allow for a date parameter, which really throws off reporting. If you're a small company, it works okay. I don't think a large company would be at all happy with this.
Ease of use Videos for training It's customizable
Setting a date parameter on a report isn't an option. Some things are not customizable. Some of the integration with carriers doesn't work as seamlessly as it should.

I have also used Hello Iris for benefit enrollment. After using Ease, Id never go back. Ease was so much easier for our associates to use and was much easier to manage from an admin perspective. There were much fewer glitches and or freezes than with Hello Iris. Overall, usability is why we used Ease.
If you do not currently have a benefits enrollment platform in your payroll system, Ease is a great option. It is simple to enroll employees and give them access so they can elect their benefits. I found this system especially helpful during open enrollment. From an admin side, the system was simple and easy to use and got the job done!

Building benefits into EASE is not easy. I have helped other agencies get started with the product. 1 agency had it for a year and their Admin person had watched Video after training video but had yet to get 1 group finished on the system where they could actually use it. We spent 2 days training them IN PERSON and getting them up and running. Recently, Ive been helping another agent - again NEW to the system. They seriously messed up deductions on about 4 cases, as well as employee applications as you have to be careful naming plans and checking that if an employee selects each plan the apps are marked correctly. In this case- Met life dental apps were not being marked when employees selected dental, due to the Plan name being wrong in the set up. Another problem was due to setting up employees with JOB CLASSES - But not offering the each plan to ALL CLASSES ... I explained to this agent Employee Class better Match the Benefit set up OTHERWISE - NEVER USE JOB CLASSES UNLESS IT"S ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. For new users - building groups into EASE can lead to a myriad of issues. This goes away once you become proficient - but the learning curve can be devastating to agencies as we can lose cases over errors.
Employee Navigator tech support was atrocious- you could never get someone on the phone and they required you to email the issue and the majority of the time their response did not address the issue. So it was a back and forth for TOO LONG ( days to weeks) . EASE support is there- and reps answer the phone and you get IMMEDIATE help. That is HUGE and was the deciding factor for me.
EASE - Has User friendly screens and Reports. It is easier for employees to use and navigate benefits. We also like the EASE phone app
We hate the Legacy mapping fees - particularly on the supplemental insurances such as vision and life as these fees practically take away our commissions on those plans. We spend time selling those as added value benefits , it's time consuming with very small commissions, so it's a RUB when EASE takes the equivalent of those commissions monthly for the Legacy mapping fees . These NEW additional fees can increase the software monthly charge by 30%

My clients and I use it and we like it. Here's a recent quote..."2018 is going well... We have had a large amount of growth and employee turnover so it has been very busy. I am all caught up and have been on top of it all. EaseCentral has been what has allowed me to stay on top of it all. "
My clients and I love EaseCentral because it is easy to use. Here's a recent direct quote from a client: "So far this year is going welll. We have had a large amount of growth and employee turnover so it has been very busy as the Director of Operation and HR Manager. I am all caught up and have been on top of it all. EaseCentral has been what has allowed me to stay on top of it all. " EaseCentral has allowed me to win new business because they were so impressed with the new hire on-boarding capabilities and benefit enrollment & management functionality of the platform. Also, I like that I can teach my clients how to use it themselves and administer their own benefits in about 10-30 minutes of training. Bottom line is it's easy to learn and use.
About the only thing I don't like about EaseCentral is recently their Customer Success Support team must have just grown. When I called into EaseCentral in the past I would almost always get a person that I recognized and had worked with before. The last 2-3 times I've called in to ask a question of the support team, I feel that I got a new person and I honestly think I knew more about EaseCentral's features and capabilities than he/she did. That's about it...everything else is really 2 thumbs up. That's my feedback and the feedback from my clients have been very positive too. Thanks,

Fantastic! The first minute that I heard about ease, I was all over it and wanted to see the product immediately. From that day 4+ years ago I haven't stopped using ease whatsoever- the truth is that ease has been a power-play tool for me in my multiple implementations. If I ever hit a wall and there is an issue, I love how ease is always there to fix and assist with the problem. I can not recommend ease enough- this has changed my productivity and ability to engage my clients and their employees.
Ease turned out to be the best option and the only option that i felt was going to rapidly develop to become a powerhouse technology platform. In the time i have been using ease, they have consistently updated/enhanced their platform for the better. The value was way better with Ease than Navigator.
I love the User experience of the software compared to other competitors in the marketplace. The overall system is wonderful, works like a charm, super easy to administer benefits. The software is always driving forward and enhancing their capabilities, so for my sake I can't choose just 1 thing about ease because everything works perfectly.
I would like more flexibility with the document generator for custom documents. The employees need some expansion on types of income/compensation that the employer can have as options. It would be nice to have the ability for Per Diem compensation, hourly plus salary pay types...more options

The most value I find with the software is that information I need for my clients is readily available. Information on specific employees or the descriptions of a client's benefits are just a click away. Enrolling new groups and open enrollment are much easier since employees receive the enrollment material electronically which includes their benefits and payroll deductions so they can make informed decision. The employer and I can track progress and receive information on a more timely basis and the enrollment material we receive is legible. I can easily download employee enrollment information to the insurance company's enrollment format which save time and is completely accurate. Enrolling new employees during the plan year is much easier for the employer, employee and broker.
The main issue that I find with the software is that it does not connect with my insurance companies. Currently only 1 of my insurance companies is connected with Ease. Due to the non-connectivity, I have to manually input changes in enrollment. When my customers add to delete employees on their insurance plan, I have to manually make the change on the insurance company's web site. It really simplifies the process for the 1 insurance company that's connected to Ease.

Ease has been a solution to the Covid 19 problem where enrollment can be done by the employees at their homes. It has also been wonderful for groups with employees in multiple states for them to enroll on-line. And there is no missing information as the program requires answers before you can go to the next section. Customer support is right there to help you, no long waits that stops your progress.
Ease offered so much more and flowed properly. I did not find Employee Navigator user friendly or intuitive.
The Ease software is easy to use. Adding a new company is a snap because all the product data, forms and plan designs are in the Ease library. Plan Administrators love the fact that all of their employee's information is at their fingertips and chasing illegible enrollment forms is a thing of the past. And, 1095 ACA reporting is quick and easy. A Great feature is that you have a Success Manager assigned to you so you can get up and running quickly and someone to go to for assistance with any feature.
I am waiting for integration with some of the largest carriers to take place so enrollments and terminations would be automated. However, Ease has added multiple carriers to that list, just not the ones I sell.

Enrollments are so much smoother, whether for a new hire, a renewing group or for a new group. It saves so much time not having to go over handwritten paper apps any more. More complete data is also available at my fingertips, easy to find and access. No more having to dig through the files to find a rate sheet, or manually calculate a family level premium.
I love how smooth the enrollment process is for the employee, the group admin, the brokerage, and the carrier. No more having to go back and forth with missing data, illegible handwriting, incorrect effective dates, etc. Plus, having the contributions, and benefit details right there for the employee, it makes their options and costs easy to see in order to make an informed decision.
The search function is a bit limited. When searching for an employee, it will only search within the selected status, ie "Active", so it can make searching a little more complex than it could be.
