I like that it is really easy for everyone to use, me as the admin on the accout and platform, and my employees on their platforms. It is very well navigated and I am able to onboard new employees through a virtual walk through on their first day with hardly any questions left to answer. The payroll platform is very easy to use as well. I also really like the people that I work at TriNet, the customer support is very good. I rarely am left without an answer to a question. When starting using TriNet in my current job, I've found TriNet platform and services to be a tremendous resource, which is very helpful and user-friendly, and much better than what I experienced with the previous HR platform. I always got the resources and support needed, in a professional & timely manner. TriNet HR platform is a very useful & comprehensive tool to help with our various HR-related needs. Every month or so, there's a problem that pops up related to one of the external systems/vendors with which TriNet Expense integrates - i.e. direct deposit system, credit card companies, our accounting system, etc. The customer service folks, who will respond to your email right away, are slow to acknowledge and address the problems. They always assume first that the problem is related to something we, the customer, are doing. In addition, it appears that we've been overcharged in recent months. I've sent their customer service folks 4 emails over 2 weeks to see if I'm calculating the charges correctly and still haven't gotten a response. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Customer service is very slow and the hours are horrible is you live on the East Coast. Since November time frame we keep having issues with their 3rd party credit card processor uploading transactions or linking with our credit card company Capital One Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very glitchy. I have elected benefits and received confirmation of selection and then weeks later have been told that I did not complete benefits selection and had to go thorough a lengthy appeals process to maintain coverage and FSA benefits. At my most recent employer they somehow managed to NOT pay me, even though my banking info was already in the TriNet system and I also signed up with my new employer the first day on the job. TriNet is incredibly helpful for viewing and downloading my bi-weekly paychecks, accessing my retirement plan portal, submitting expense reports, viewing my health benefits, and tracking time off all in one place. I especially appreciate the "Estimate Balance" feature on the Time Off page, which allows you to view the exact date at which you will hit your earned PTO cap. This has enabled me to always make sure I take off time before I hit my cap, and avoid losing out on well-earned PTO. The TriNet mobile app also gives you access to most, if not all, of the same features that the web browser version offers, so you can check any work-related details you might need to on the go.

Insurance plans are not good, time tracking is separate from system and does not integrate well. PTO tracking is very confusing. Customer service is awful. I have spent 1.5 weeks trying to get our PTO corrected, they do not know the laws in your state, you pay 116$ per person per month, and you have to keep them in check because they do not make sure you are compliant. Payroll is harder than it needs to be. There was a glitch in there system and one of my employee's got paid $0 for 80 hours. Not acceptable. I let them know of the issue, and was promised they could correct and get employee paid on time, That did not happen and I had to talk to 7 different people to get it corrected. So many issues!

When I was "sold" on using TriNet I wasn't told that their technology was some of the worst I had seen. They did upgrade some of the web software but there are still places where you click and find yourself in the old horrible software that is klunky and difficult to use.

I use TriNet for payroll and other HR needs. Only one other person in the organization deals directly with TriNet, but all employees access their own portals. The biggest problem TriNet addresses for our organization is affordable healthcare.
Affordable healthcare. TriNet is able to provide this by negotiating as one organization with many, many employees. Payroll. It's fast and easy and my client service rep is quick to respond when I have a problem. Providing information on government regulations. TriNet is good at staying on top of all that is required and sending notices to post etc.

I cannot overstate how much I regret engaging TriNet. As a solo practitioner/S-corp, I used them for payroll and for healthcare benefits. Initially, they charged abt $70/person/payroll, in line with industry standards. Their reporting formats are mediocre, but it was fine for the price. Without proper notice, TriNet increased fees for all companies under 5 people by assessing a minimum $750 fee - the rate for 5-person companies. Rather than being above-board and advising small companies that they no longer wished to service them, there was no outreach to companies or warning, only an email discussing a payroll rate increase to just under $75/person with a small notice elsewhere of a new minimum rate, which you'd have to know to look for. They violated the trust placed in them as a fiduciary with direct access to corporate bank accounts and dipped into company's accounts to pay themselves more for no material change in services. Any company under 25 people should avoid TriNet. Should TriNet decide such companies are insufficiently profitable, at any time they might make large unauthorized withdrawals to scale up their fees without notice. Time for AG action.

I haven't used another HRIS system to compare TriNet but the benefits were that they take ownership of all payroll and legal related issues.
