I have used/worked with almost every CRM on the market over my professional career with billion-dollar companies to my own (less than a million). So when I chose nutshell, I knew exactly what I was looking for. Most CRMs focus on doing a few things right and it is sometimes hard to use them if your business model does not fit their mold. With Nutshell, and the team that is constantly improving on the platform I am finding EVERYTHING my small business needs, available. In fact, there is more than I currently have time to identify and learn to use, packed under their hood. Even though I know I could improve and streamline my business processes by using them. I am a small, lean shop and need help quickly when I need it. I have sometimes found that the help came a little late. My storms are brief and intense and I need to take care of them NOW. getting an email in 24-48 hours does not fit my model well. That being said, you could not rip my Nutshell out of my cold dead fingers. I am not giving it up. I need a platform that addresses many different kinds of business processes, and truly does it, not just talks about it. I sell to medical professionals, the patients of those medical professionals, people who simply want to represent our product, and who are NOT medical professionals, as well as other new demographics that we are breaking into over time. The platform needs to allow me to capture, manage and nourish customers on many different levels who are of many different flavors. Nutshell does this.

I truly appreciate how complex the product is. You can find features for almost everything you need to manage sales teams and customer relationships across the globe. From a sales guy's perspective, it is very easy to track what is happening, when you need to follow up, which projects are rotting, where you lose business, and why. The customization is top-notch. I use tens of custom fields to get an in-depth insight into our customer needs, and I can use these custom fields to create reports. And I have a lot of reports. I was using Pipedrive before, and I can honestly say that Nutshell is a powerful alternative, in some aspects even superior. The complexity of Nutshell means that you need to think first before setting up the tool. Then there are some minor annoyances that I would love the team to fix. For example, emails to a specific person appear in all leads, where this person is assigned as the contact person. If you have a purchaser in a big company, who manages many RFQs, you will see all emails in all leads, although they are not related to that specific lead. This was better in Pipedrive, where the tool could assign emails only to specific leads. Nutshell helps our sales team stay on top of our customer needs and promptly manage their leads and follow-ups. It is greatly helping in reporting, as we have a ton of reports created for our management to be well informed.

Frankly, I like the service best. I know that raises an eyebrow because it makes people wonder, "Why does he need to contact customer service if the product is so great?". That's a legit question but it doesn't mean the product is not great. A good CRM platform is going to be deep and wide and have a lot of functionality that takes a bit of time to learn. I'll admit, I'm not the fastest learner of CRM tools, so once in a while, I ask the team for pointers or help sorting out issues that in most cases I've screwed up myself. In every single case, Nutshell's customer service was immediately available and very happy to help me. They constantly go above and beyond. Not much. I would like the customizable dashboard to be just a bit more customizable. Right now, there are about 5-6 widgets, but there could be more. Sales automation is very capable but needs more tutorials and help getting it going. They make it very easy to manage a small or large number of contacts and sales leads in a variety of different styles and methods. Once you get bigger, their Marketing, Forms, and Sales Automation modules make it easy to grow and scale.

There is nothing positive to say about a product that is constantly down. It regularly takes 30-60 minutes to complete basic processes such as importing 10 Leads and seconding 20 emails. There is no issue with my email as I can send things from my Outlook no problem. My internet connection is fine and I can access any other website. I signed up for Nutshell because their customer support was supposed to be live during business hours but they are repeatedly away when I have mission critical issues to resolve. I don't have hours out of my day to wait for them or wait for their product to work. There are clearly serious issues on the backend of their architecture. Oh, and their Android app is useless and they don't even seem to know it because they only care about their Apple app. This is a typical "SMB-focused product" that treats SMBs as second-class and not deserving of mission critical services. Find another vendor. I haven't solved any problems with Nutshell. They have just created problems for me. Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to review Nutshell. My team and I take extensive measures to ensure a best-in-class experience for professionals like you and I am so disappointed to hear about your experience. This comment was left anonymously, but I would love to get in touch with you to learn more about what went wrong. Are you able to send an email to support@nutshell.com so I can help? To receive updates about Nutshell performance, you can visit status.nutshell.com. Nutshell downtime is rare and has not occurred in the past 90-days. By the way, Nutshell's data migration experts offer a white glove import service to take the headache of importing off your plate. The best part? It is free of charge for paid and in-trial customers. Thanks again for taking the time to connect--I look forward to helping you! Kristen

Good categorisation for clients. I can sort lists easily to find out who is where or when who hasn't been contacted in a while. There is not much support when it comes to integrating other tools or if you mention something is not working or could be working much better - you just get told to "suggest it in the community forum" to get "votes". It's not a feature I'm suggesting - it's not working. Before you get started, make sure you fully check out the features they provide. Come in with a plan of how you will use these tools. If you start using this product and using it wrong it will get harder and harder to fix these errors - it is quite easy to get it messy and use all the processes in the wrong way. Plan out how you will use this product so that you can get the best out of it. The ability to see communication to clients from other team members is invaluable - it has saved me from many embarrassing phone calls. Hello, and thank you for reviewing Nutshell! We're glad to hear that Nutshell provided a lot of value to how you and your team communicate daily! While Nutshell currently has a limited number of built-in integrations, we allow you to connect other applications through third-party integrators using API keys. We also provide our full API documentation for custom integration build-outs for users with access to software development and IT teams. And our knowledgable Customer Success team is available to answer any questions you may have pertaining to your integrations! If you have questions about a specific integration or would like more information on our API, please feel free to reach out to us at anytime - we're happy to answer. Happy Nutshelling!

Nutshell has been easy to use and easy to run reports out of. It's quick and allows for rapid visual assessment of sales and progress with their graphs and reporting. The email integration in contacts is helpful though it's not very robust. There are some major issues with lag time from the dashboard to contacts. No real time updates it seems. There have been issues with security, not from an outside party but they do not allow customization of what team members can view outside of their very short-sighted standards. For instance, if I don't want a rep to be able to view reports he will also not be able to see any other rep's contacts. Major issue. Support always takes at least a day to reply to inquiries. That can be a long time when you have a serious issue. There was one time I reached out to support and they were OOO for two days for some training event. Seriously? Think about every possible question to evaluate prior to purchase. Ask a lot about the back-end and customization. They'll pitch you on ease of use but this CRM is hardly built out. Using this software did help us to get more organized as a sales organization but it's very bare bones. Had I really knew what I was getting into I likely would have selected an alternate CRM.

We used Nutshell as our first CRM as on the surface it had good features, however, when we grew and it came time to migrate to a custom CRM we had built, it was near impossible to export our data and the support team was absolutely useless. I would avoid using Nutshell.

I did not select Nutshell CRM. My employer has that information, but as far as I feel, Nutshell has better uses than Zoho CRM and can be used just as effectively in B2B relations. We only use Nutshell for candidate data, so business contacts are not mixed.
This can be used for different industries, healthcare, IT, retail or any company with a customer service line, big or small. if i had to ask, i would say "Do you have any type of filing system that you use?" "anything where you are keeping track of personal/ business information." Do you need access to information on a day to day basis? If they do , then this can be used , especially if you need to keep track of the numbers; we like how we can see if are things going up or down.
Keyword search, location search lets you know where on the map your account is, helps with follow ups, sends notifications via email at least 15 to 30 mins ahead of time, like that. :) I love that i don't even have to read , to know what is going on . Everything is color coded, email blue, notes yellow/orange, calls white. We can track our progress easily for the day, and see where we can use improvements. Completely organized like a filing system. Home page lets you see real time view of what you have been doing, for example, calls that were made, who you called and any notes left and if emails were sent, date, time and location you sent to is updated almost instantly For any company who relies heavily on lead generation, this is a software that will keep track of past present and future leads. by location, by industry, by volume, and more. I can see this software being used by other industries
I would like to see call times on nutshell. how long was the call that was made , when was athe note opened and how long did it take ot complete the note. i like that i can reach notifications on any page , but i would like to be able to have more bullets for contat information. for example 1 account and 12 possible contacts can be made but when creating a lead wont show all the contacts (on the drop down contact bar on leads pages) so i can create lead, So have to go back delete some contacts then back to leads page so i can pull up the lead and save. when scheduling activity on accounts page i cant leave notes for what to do on the activity on the schedule activity window. only on the notes part of account , so when i am notified of the activiy via email i have to search m y notes to see what i was supposed to call for. A drop down box for schedule activity i would like to see more options, like follow up / check in etc I think it would be cool to have a note pop up with relevant info that can be saved to specific accounts on account page by just hovering over the account. for example, instead of saving information on the accounts name (Company Name , # No longer in service /closed down) it would be nice to hover over it and save information about the company so i dont have to click on it to see whats going on, or see an account with a name thats like 20 words long :0 It makes it harder to do key word search, that would be great if the same thing could be done for conctacts without having to scroll through a year's worth of notes. still like it a lot even without the change. just fyi

We have used Dynamics CRM for many years. While the tool was indeed powerful, we found ourselves longing for something that has a lower "friction" to just getting things done.
In my evaluation and selection of Nutshell, I was drawn in by the fact that it straddles the gap between overly-simple and overly-complex. It has a configurable sales process and some great features, yet it is pretty simple to use and understand. The alternatives of MSCRM and SalesForce throw so many features at you that are difficult to configure. Nutshell seems to live in the "good enough without being overly complicated" space.
The ability to simply capture any emails to/from a contact is extremely easy. Simply BCC the Nutshell email address and it sorts it out and attaches the information to the contact. This makes it easy to do from a phone or tablet (as it doesn't require an add-in to Outlook like several other solutions). The reporting is simple but effective. The "custom reporting" is basically a big filter that is pretty useful. Other nice touches are the ability to hook in a contacts Twitter feed. Nutshell also displays the weather and local time for whoever you are viewing. The dashboard makes it easy to see what the rest of your team is doing. It's basically an activity stream that shows communication and status changes that have occurred recently. You can comment on any of these activity items and start an internal dialog with your colleagues. For example, you can tag a coworker in a comment and they will be notified. You can then capture your comments/dialog for a permanent record to remind you of the conversation.
The web UI has improved, but still has a "uniqueness" that some may not appreciate. The Android app is nice, and the reporting available within it are helpful. However, it too has a sort of "non-standard' look and feel. It would be nice to see additional integrations. Also, the ability to send a quote from the tool (without sending to another program) would be helpful. You can add custom fields to the leads, but they field length is too short to capture the level of detail we want for some of the data. For example, trying to capture details scoping information just won't fit in the long-fields.

We came from using Big Contacts, which was a simpler CRM program that we just simply outgrew. We entertained a few other CRM programs before deciding on Nutshell back in 2017. We did a demo with SalesForce and it was more advanced than what we needed. I honestly can't quite remember the other two CRM programs but they were very similar to Nutshell price-wise and feature-wise.
We refer our partners to Nutshell CRM often so they can store all of their client and potential client information in one place. It has been a great tool for us to grow our relationships with prospective customers. It is a great way to stay organized with working on a team where you will receive callbacks or work together to gain business.
Customization - we are able to make Nutshell make the most sense for our company and processes Scheduling - the ability to set tasks allows us to never forget a follow-up call or email Tags - allow us to prioritize leads and segment our customers and potential customers Communication - the ability to tag colleagues in notes for callbacks or updates to accounts is very helpful to keep everyone on the same page Email History - being able to blind copy all our email communication to Nutshell, allows us to have email threads and notes all in one place
Special characters - although I know this is very difficult to resolve, we have always had an issue with being able to search or match up companies that have $, &, or @ in their name Integration - we use a couple of different programs as often as Nutshell that doesn't currently integrate with the platform. The main one being our webcam video program BombBomb.com, not a deal-breaker but it would be nice to integrate to go along with our activities and emails Mobile App - we do use the mobile app when we do outside sales trips and it works well for inputting notes with the talk-to-text feature. There are some features that are not available on the mobile app that would be nice though.

We get a cost effective CRM that frees up cash flow for use elsewhere in our business.
Nutshell offers a unique ability to tag people in activities and run reports on calling activities for my sales reps.
Every lead typically has a company or contact. But if you don't save the activity in the lead, and instead under the company or individual contact, you can't see it when your client calls in regarding the sale they want service for, so your customer service is hindered and your sales people look like they don't know the history of the account. It's embarrassing to use this software because Nutshell says they are only helping to land the sale, not support it, but this mindset about how they build their software results in a horrible disconnect with regards to how we are forced to serve our customers, and thus we are using a CRM that doesn't support the full life cycle of a sale. We keep hoping Nutshell will fix this and improve because their customer service is great, and their people mean well, but after several years of patiently waiting, we are concerned that we may never see this problem fixed. The mobile app also has so many glitches with the UX that it can't even compare the experience to how you can use leads in a web browser. Further, when we have a customer call in to ask about their account, the recent leads puts the oldest first in the list, which means we have to scroll through several hundred orders just to open the last order we did for that client. If you are trying to sell to a major corporate account with multiple facilities / departments, forget it with Nutshell; linking subcompanies / vendors / partners / other locations is a nightmare in Nutshell.

I'd say my experience overall is good. I like how simple it is to create things. They all link together smoothly. My experience with other CRM programs is that they over complicate things with too many layers. Nutshell just keeps it simple and give me what I need. It could use a few more ways of spitting out information, but as far as keeping all my information in one spot it's quite good at it. I would suggest the product for a company that needs a CRM for information tracking. I think when it comes to an organization that needs a deeper data dig, Nutshell will not be the solution for them.
It's easy to use and task tracking is simple. It helps me understand at a glance what I need to accomplish in a day. Entering data is quick, and this part of the program is quite intuitive. Customer support is really good. You're speaking with a human instead of a robot.
Reporting is quite lacking. Trying to understand data trends in some cases requires the creation of multiple reports instead of compiling it into one. It often times asks about duplicates. I'm not sure how it recognizes them, but they're often not similar at all. Understanding interactions between an account is quite tiresome. It tracks all of the data into one place and requires some digging to determine what is relevant to the lead, contact, or company. It's all in the same place instead of into multiple swim lanes. It some times feels like you're asking it for information regarding one thing and it dumps every single interaction that may or may not include that lead/account/contact.

It's CRM that actually is liked and used!
Easy and flexible setup; consistently clear design. Can use basic functions without tripping over the advanced ones, and can gradually add feature/function for a smooth transition from beginner to power user. I also like the way you have color-keyed the function buttons to the main color on functional screens. A nice visual orientation cue!
I worked full-time in the design profession for 17 years, so this is a 'studied' critique: There is a lot of market pressure for tech products to follow design trends. Unfortunately, design trends often are based on designers designing for other designers -- which tends to leave certain kinds of user needs out in the cold. One of the most common of these 'orphaned' needs is the need for contrast and clarity. Nutshell's UI gets high marks in my book for uncluttered design and common-sense functionality. But as people get older, it gradually becomes harder to distinguish low-contrast elements in a design. Contrast (and color, of course) also can be used (and is used to a degree in Nutshell) to 'lead the eye to where the action is. ' My suggestions for improving the main user screen are these: 1) Search Everything is, by definition, a key feature -- it should have a STRONG presence, instead of looking almost greyed-out. 2) Use bolder and slightly larger text throughout. To a degree, weight and size will compensate for lack of contrast -- and without cluttering the layout.

    many successful placements!
First and foremost, nutshell has a #1 Customer Service Team! This, in my opinion, is the sole driving force toward effective sales on the part of its users, regardless of the platform/system being used. Then I would add a few other benefits; 1. lead page shows important info all at one glance, 2. availability to search everything (albeit, excluding info logged in the activities section by each individual user), 3. fast input of info when saving info, and many other specific features you've built into the nutshell system.
why not build an automatic clock, showing the time the caller is calling into lead location, maybe next to a number lead. additionally, you would raise the value of your product substantially if you were to build a functionality that allowed a search of the words in the activities (message) section of your lead page. this would allow users an ability to quickly zero in on valuable leads based on previous messages noted. just think when users leave or when their leads are reassigned to different users, how valuable a tool that would be to follow up on hot leads that need to be brought to a close.

Easy to set appointments and track who I have talked with and what we talked about and set follow up calls/appointments. The reports are a good tool for staying on track with my efforts/results. I've only had one experience with customer support but when I did they responded very quickly and had me back working in a very reasonable amount of time.
For what I use the software for there really are not any cons. I am an end user so I primarily use it for setting/following up/tracking my daily calls and contacts. I guess on the computer side the only negative I would say is the search engine is very fickle, sometimes you can put in specific words and you get some crazy thing that has nothing to do with the company or person your looking for and then you can misspell what your looking for and get exactly what you want. I will say that the app for my HTC phone is somewhat lacking. I can set appointments just fine and log calls/emails but the searching for a certain person or company is very very limited

Cost, Flexibility, API, Reports. Customer service has been responsive, but most of the time its "wait and try again in a while"
we use the dashboard heavily as a team, and the new homescreen layout has made things a little more difficult. We still have issues where items will not "check off" from time to time, or duplicate to-dos from the same process appear. This has decreased since the new layout launched, and I was in contact daily with a customer service rep at that point. The biggest ongoing issue is that the "to-do" items for leads are now harder to get to. You have to select to-do specifically because it defaults to Activities, and then for it to be useful for us, we need to select "only steps with due times" to avoid having cancelled leads etc. show up. I also re-arrange the panes every morning so that the to-do is the majority of the screen. I'd prefer being able to select a permanent layout instead of re-doing it every day.
